And that sucks about the fire restrictions. Usually during a fire restriction they'll let you have campfires only in designated fire rings. Must be really tough this year if they aren't even allowing that.

With all these restrictions lately I've been thinking of getting a little propane campfire. Are those allowed during no-burn periods? Something like this. Puts out 65,000 BTUs http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000O51VJ0/?tag=ihco-20

EDIT: Here's the forest order effective 6/27/14 and updated 7/1/14 that bans all fires except from these designated sites with a host. Gold Lake campground is ok but not the 4x4 campground: http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/plumas/news-events/?cid=STELPRD3806311

Just print them out online and sign. I always keep a few extra in my truck in case folks forget. They update them every January

Anybody bringing dogs? I usually bring my mutts camping but I think I'll leave them home this time since there will be so many people within a close proximity. My lab gets a little uneasy around people he doesn't know (especially at night) so I don't want him annoying folks....

I am bringing mine, but he's a big harmless oaf. Throw the ball in the lake enough and they won't move for hours.

Heck yeah! If this minivan could run Snake Lake going clockwise, then any 60 or 80 worth their salt should do it just fine. Hard part looks like it starts at 1:18

snake loop looks incredibly easy but ill need to stuff my 31s under the truck before this trip since im rubbing too much with 33s currently.

it is super dry and hot in Quincy right now so im not surprised on the fire restrictions

Slo60 is out of this trip. The county fair is earlier than normal this year and my daughter is showing her lambs over the weekend. Can't miss that. Hope you guys have an epic trip, one that I wish I hadn't missed!

Got my rig to run yesterday. Still some hurdles, but I'm over a 50-50 chance finally.

I don't mind if your dog pees on my tent. You can ship it back to me once it's clean.

Keep an eye out for my furry friend "Marty". Not sure if he was a Marten or a Fisher. First time I ever saw one. He was scampering across the rocks about 5ft. from me along the lake shore.
