I’m calling her ready as of this morning. Bled the brakes with a hand vac pump last night and holy hell the original braking system on a 60 is fantastic with all new parts and a good bleed. Swapped the crappy LEDs in my PIAAs for the original 85w halogen bulbs and I have the “surface of the sun” effect I was going for, current draw be damned. Packed up recovery gear, spares, extra tools, fluids, etc, last night as well so all that is ready.

Braking system: check
Cooling system: check
Wheels & tires: check
Steering: check
Fuel delivery: check
Electrical, charging, spark: check
Lighting: check
Cassette tapes: check
Engine: low compression

Here we go, Friday morning departure can’t come soon enough.

I was getting squeamish about tires on the pickup, so I had new tires put on that this week.

Worst case, the 40 dies, I'll take the 3wd Ford. 🤣

Wouldn't be the first time a tow rig was put into trail duty at SAS - but I'd probably think twice about taking a stock Crewmax on engineer and lower mineral creek again 🤪 (SAS#4 - busted radiator on the 40)

I want to give this all of the emojis. 😆

That's probably close in wheelbase to a regular cab, regular box I'd think. But hey, I am solid front axle..... 😐

I'm not sure how well a one ton flexes. I'm gonna say I'm alright keeping that one a mystery.

Oooooh, I can be like the j**pers though, and tell everyone I'm on 33's and tons. 🙄🤣🤣

I’ve not loved the sneak peeks Toyota has given. Looks like every other newly introduced model. Sequoia looks like the 4Runner. What’s with the deep deep front ends anymore? They’re taller than me….
Was talking with a buddy this morning about the new USDM LC teaser photos ... Can't wait for the aftermarket folks to design and release bumpers that get rid of 60% of the height of the stupidly huge front fascia. Also, one of the teaser photos appears to show a tailgate! If so, that means Toyota listened. I'm not in the market for this thing at all, but it's kind of like sports or horse racing - fun to speculate.

Mineral creek is now on my list of not favorites lol. Took a 23 out last week and I’m happy to never take a full size again. It got the deal done but not nearly as enjoyable ha

I agree!! I do love me some speculation.

I just read that Toyota is introducing the 2024 Land Cruiser on Aug 1st. I propose we have a launch party at the KOA to celebrate! Hopefully its not a Prado

Hopefully it's not a 4Runner

If the new LC is watered down garbage one of our group photos should include the “Mud salute” :flipoff2: and be sent to Toyota headquarters.

This is the Solid Axle Summit, anything with IFS is watered down garbage*.

*In effect until the Monday commute back to work on the 7th.

Noooo! I met you and got one of your signed photos at Lone Star Roundup and was so looking forward to seeing the truck in person.

Oh well. I'll buy you beer anyway. : )

Ichiro Toyota won’t be there either. Same reason.
