FYI; I need the 10” for the rear of mine and needed to angle the shock in to 22*, raise the top mount almost to the floor and made new lower mounts to get the travel I needed without bottoming out the shocks at either end of travel and clear the sway bar. Ben @ Filthy Motor sports hit the valving on the first try.

I believe we have similar lifts in the rear of our 55’s, good luck!!!

Sounds like mine. The top mounts are right under the floor, but not sure of the angle. Would you recommend Filthy Motor Sports.

Yes sir, Ben was very helpful on working with me on valving and later after I installed them on getting the nitrogen charge correct.
Not to mention they had the best pricing!!

Edit to add, you'll want to check your angle and give Ben that number, from memory the valving changes around 30*

2" and get some shock oil at the same time, you'll need to change the fittings for the reservoir hoses several times before you get everything tucked up how you want it regardless of what you order. At-least that was my story on both the front and the back. I started with straight on the front then went to 90* and ended up with 45* and on the rear I started with 90* and ended up with 45*

I needed to go out to the shop to stoke the fire and snapped a photo for you of the mounts, excuse the mess I still have not had a chance to pressure wash the underside after the Moab trip.

Top mounts are right at the floor and shocks are angled at 22 degrees in. reservoirs are mounted to opposing shocks.

Bottom mounts are similar to factory location.

J Mack,

Question for you.. When you say 22 degrees in, does that means 22 from 90 ( straight )? or @ 68 degrees. Mine is showing 67 degrees with just an angle finder.

Thanks,

Yes 22* from vertical or 68* from horizontal depending how you set your angle finder.

Ben was telling we that the closer I got to 30* the less effective the valving would be so I was trying to keep it under 25*

If I had to do it over I would copy Rogue Racing Link Suspension Ford Raptor Cantilever Coilover setup!!!

WOW! That looks like Landcruisnman's setup. All I need is to get over the misplaced shopping cart. Save that for your buggy.

where's your sense of adventure?

Calling out to Pablo, if time is available, would you take a picture of your front bumper brackets. I know you have a pto winch and I'm thinking of using the stock bumper. I'm not sure if Toyota used the stock wing brackets on the winch extensions. I don't want a modern looking bumper on mine, but want a reinforced stock looking bumper with a tube grill guard. I'll need to include some shackle mounts through the bumper to the frame.

Here's mine without the wings.

Just reporting in, not a lot of big updates, but moving forward at least. The main focus has been shock mounts, which I've stuck my head in the sand throughout this whole build, thinking everything would work out correct. Well, we know how that works out. :) I'm going with King shocks, so I can dial in the valving and get them rebuilt when needed. Problem is the mounting, getting everything to match was a pain. Toyota mounts, after market mounts and what King offers are all different. I should mention the small fact of using 60 axles with the parking brake cable right in line with the 55's shocks. I started over and made my own, moving the shock mounts in front of the axle and around the exhaust pipe. The rears are done, almost. :) Here's the upper mount bracket, I'm going with a remote reservoir, so needed a place for them, also.

Not sure if I posted the air line from the compressor, coming through the body at the reflector site, turned out good.

One other nice thing corrected, I've always had a 3/4" driver's side lean, using Old Man Emu springs, but didn't know if they were marked for a certain side. I went a head and switched them and like magic, it corrected the lean! All is good.

Jebus! Now I am glad I never got those fancy shocks Christa Lancy was talking about and just went with some bolt on Douche Techs...

I am trying to remember my set up. In your picture above it looks like someone welded the "wings" to the frame?
I know the PTO frame extensions play a role, I will have to dig through some pictures - stay tuned...

Here is some clarity: POTM - March, 2014 - Javelina By Pablo Cruise

The extensions do not have wings on them...
