There is also the 4js in town, apparently spots fill up but there are always cancellations so if they are full just keep calling.

Is there camping available? Trying to save money.

When I am in the area, I usually stay at Ridgway State Park. They do not have cabins AFAIK (like the KOA), but the price is right at the sites are very nice.

It is now definitely an event for all makes of Toyota, though, still dominated by the FJ Cruisers.

I would love to make this, but gas prices suck. Its about $2000 just for gas to drive there and back, then hotel, food, etc. And sadly about 25-30 hours of driving, one way, haha.

I just used the trip calculator on gas buddy.Trip Cost Calculator - Maximize Your Fuel Savings - GasBuddy.com

A little under $500 bucks in fuel roundtrip from Dallas. Would love to make the trip. I'll see if I can get me :princess: bought in.

Jason, there is a great crew from TOD/TRDParts4u that does a caravan from Dallas. I am sure they would love to have you and your :princess: join in. They will leave from the Cabelas in Ft. Worth on the Sunday the 15th and head up to Raton and camp at the KOA that night then on into Ouray the next day. If you are interested I will hook you up with Wilson, he is heading up the convoy.

My wife and I will leave Austin either on Friday or Saturday and head to Santa Fe for a couple of days then on up to Ouray to get everything set up. If y'all come decide to go the Santa Fe route we could hook up for some great dinner and margaritas!

^ Order that stuff and have a vendor deliver it to the Summit! Plenty of help will be available to complete the install....

I sent an email. I'd like to contribute some product for the raffle etc. I might even try to make the trip too (in a 100 of course)

I know its not tech but please leave it for a day or so...

Some great reasons for 100s to attend the 2012 Summit...Our incredible list of vendors keeps growing and includes Slee Offroad, Proffitts Cruisers Metal Tech, Ironman Offroad, and TRDParts4u among others. Right now the majority of attendees have FJ Cruisers, we need the 100s to represent!

After one month we have over 150 vehicles registered and cut off will probably happen at about 225. If you are on the fence, its time to get off and register.

The Summit has one of the biggest and best raffles you will find at any event with the grand prize being a TRD Supercharger!

See Ya in Ouray!

Carl, I just responded to your email. Thanks for the generous offer and I hope we see ya in Ouray!

Thought I would let y'all know that we just had a call with Falken Tire and they are now an official Summit sponsor and they are wanting to make a BIG impact. We are also in talks with Discount Tire, they have been a sponsor for the last four years and last year was very beneficial. We are working on something really cool with them and as soon as I am able I will pass on the info.

Definitely will need to think about doing that. It's still fun to build your own custom stuff though. And Nick I will let you know if I am able to go and we can figure out riding there together.

Looks like this is a go! Anybody care to share their trail selections? It's always fun to roll with other 100s.

Thats awesome Travis, lemme know if you need any trail suggestions. See ya in Ouray!

How far is Telluride from Ouray. The websites say 17-20 miles the mapquest says 50 miles???? Asking because my family may want to stay in Telluride if it is not too far.
Thanks

Both are true depending on the route! :)
The 17-20 would be via Imogene Pass, 50 would be via pavement. They are probably similar as far as time goes.

Thursday Trail Run: California Pass and Corkscrew Gulch at 07:30 AM
Friday Trail Run: Poughkeepsie Gulch at 07:00 AM
Saturday Trail Run: Alpine Loop (Engineer and Cinnamon Passes) at 07:30 AM

Trail selections...or what's left of them. Hope to swap Black Bear into the Saturday spot.

Pretty common that openings occur for the rides...I seem to recall one of the early morning Saturday runs having only 4-5 of the registered rigs show up :)

Sleep on Saturday morning can be a requirement...haha

Have to say the event is very lucky to have someone like you dedicated to making this happen.

Hard work, Total dedication.

Been reading up on Black Bear and Poughkeepsie Gulch...those who have done both and had to pick one or the other, which would you choose? It seems like Black Bear's challenge is more of braking and backing where as Poughkeepsie Gulch is more climbing...is that the case?

Texas Group

Went last year, can't wait for this year.Already registered, looking for any other San Antonio/Austin area folks that want convoy up to Ouray.
