Nah, thats why I have it mounted about halfway between the A and B pillars, the line of light comes down pretty much right in front of the bullbar, none on the bonnet at all.

The light bar itself is great offroad, lights up the tracks well, with a mass of light all around, it does not though heaps of light a long distance though. I still use my HID driving lights when on the open road of need to light up a reasonable distance infront.

Only problems are, when snowing heavily it is useless, everything turns white and since no heat is generated the lens ice's up wit snow. In rain not to bad, heavy fog useless. Aside from that it is great and I have used it on three big night trips so far no issues, no water or dust ingress etc which I am happy with since it is only a cheapie.

Cool, I am wanting to put one on top of the bullbar above my halogen spotties.

I considered that too, figured against it since it is more susceptible to mud/stones and sticks hitting etc and I wanted it to really show up potholes at night.

Hulsty - quick question...when you did your rear quarter chop did you cut it and weld, or was there more to it? Ie body work metal forming ect.

Since my last trip I have sold all my wheels, tyres and some spares and bought a new set of tyres, Nitto mud grapplers 315/75R16 and a set of external beadlock rims. Been doing some maintenance repairs too, new brakes all around, fixing the flares, stripped and cleaned inside starter and repaired some electrical stuff.

Good to see more nitto,s in melb , did you buy them thru ozzy in Sydney or find a local dealer , a very nicely made japanese tyre .
I just put a set of terra,s on my prado and love them , they seem very similar to a bfg all terrain just softer .

looked like a good trip, a little more gold in the pan could help to pay off those new sneakers!
