How high you mounting these bad boys!?
That looks like my old basement before I moved. Enough light to walk around, but a flashlight needed to find and identify anything!

Let's talk about your lighting.
Finally back from the long weekend, nice dungeon you have there! What is the total SF of the shop? Working up a couple options....one Home Depot special and another more robust solution.Oh yeah! If it's possible to be product I can do a walk-in at Lowes or Home Depot, that would be![]()
Matt
I only want to work on the 600sq’ section effected by the newest pallet racks. The ‘easy’ solution would be to rehang the cheap flourescent lights that were inside the old office...which I already own.
I will probably be going to Lowes in the morning for an.other sheet or two of plywood for the racks, so whatever you can suggest by then would be good. I don’t even understand what the CFL bulbs really are, other than that they don’t need a ballast. I wish I had time for ‘Lighting for Dummies’; right now ‘done is good’ is my motto. Too many irons in the fire.

Sure thing. I do business with another company that manufacturers these things globally, they usually have some old stock floating around and sell them for cheap. Looking into that in parallel but I get the feeling these Home Depot jobbers will be the best bet. Using multiples will help reduce shadows from just having one of them. Hopefully the depot will ship to the store free of charge. No Matt, you're not too late. The product in the link is very impressive. Not in stock locally, but looks like it's worth the wait. I'm going to do a little more research, but that looks like what I will probably end up ordering. Thank you so much for the timely advise. I owe you a
As for the office/ yoga space, if you look on the warehouse fire thread, you can see I've already installed two racks where it was. And two more will eventually be installed. That was the point!

Alright, I'll pm you next week then!Reason? Your professional opinion on where best to place them!

Darn, must have missed you and this is probably too late. I didn't get any notification for the post!
If that's the case (and I missed you), rehang the old ones!
If you want more light, and want it in a form factor that isn't fluorescent or retrofit tubes....try something like this!
EnviroLite 90-Watt 2 ft. White Integrated LED Backlit High Bay Hanging Light with 11400 Lumens 5000K-HB2B12DMDP50 - The Home Depot
At 12-13', I'd say you want something spitting out 10-12k lumens/fixture, wide distribution, with a lens so it keeps the dust off, 1 per ~450SF. Buy 2, toss up one and see how you like it. Add the second if needed. One on each end of your racked area might just be the solution and let light spill out to other areas.
You demo'd out the office right? Open a yoga studio in all that free space!
You'll like those lights. I have 4 of them in the 30x30 section of my garage. I wired them individually, and if I turn them all on at night it's like working outside at noon.

We are, I'll swing by sometime 1-3pm. Timing is a bit loose based on how long some customer meetings take. Excited to see the place now, always wanted to walk on the sun! What can I say but OMG! I never knew! I got the lights yesterday and couldn’t resist hooking one of them up. Threw the switch and BOOM!!! It’s like stadium lighting. I am really impressed. Thanks so much for this suggestion Matt. Are we still on for Thursday?
