Well I hope the rest of you Mudders are staying safe from the flames and don't wait to be told to evacuate. I have had a few family members evacuate last night and today and there is no light at the end of this tunnel as of right now.

Oh and on a much lighter note there will be no Meet & Greet tomorrow night, attendance was looking poor and the fire is much to dangerous to even worry about things like this.

Took us 2 hours to go 17 miles today into work. 3 Freeways are closed down in our area. Im not even sure how we might get home tonight (if we even wanna go home!). We live on a hillside and are crossing our fingers that our area doesnt get hit with fire. 50 mph winds adding to the fuel. My mom can see flames out her backyard. She watched transformers blow up in the city from her backyard last night. Blackness across parts of Orange County. Her power went out once. There are like 7 fires going right now.

As I am unemployed right now I am not a busy guy and if someone needs a place to hang out I can acomodate one maybe two mudders at my place if needed. Small place though about 550 sq ft.

Managing up here.

Last night was pretty bad - the wind was blowing all the smoke and ashes from Canyon Country down to my place and can hardly breath. And during the night the fire advanced closer to us. Clear for now thanks to the change in wind direction.

Breathing easier.

This is a pisser - all the offroading spots here are affected. I think I need to get out and enjoy the SoCal outdoors as soon as I can before it goes out in smoke!

Dave - glad to hear you are ok for now. I know you're closer than many of us to this. Irvine fire along the 241 is ARSON! Bastards that set this if caught ought to be burned at the stake to feel a little of their own medicine!

Air quality is awful! Stay indoors if at all possible.

I am home from work today housing most of my girlfriends family.

13 people evacuated from 5 different houses.

Crazy sheeeatl

HOPE YOUR ALL SAFE

This is nuts, it seems like half my office has been evacuated from their homes and some are bring their families to the office instead of the evac centers.

Everyone stay safe!

From my buddy regarding Lake Arrowhead fire.

Yep. We've closed off all access to the mountain:

Crestline - The California Highway Patrol has closed all mountain roadways, including Highway 18, 330, 138, and 173, to non-residents. Any residents returning to the mountains will be required to show proof-of-residency such as a drivers license, utility bill, or other identifying document. An evacuation center has been established at the Jerry Lewis Center in Highland for all evacuees.
Air command has begun discussing using the DC-10 tanker to make high altitude drops from about 300 feet above the targets.

Both sets of parent's houses, 3 sisters, and a brother as well as all of their families have been evacuated from Ramona and Escondido so far. Hopefully their houses are OK. I hope it doesn't get as close to my house as it did 4 years ago:frown:. My dad said that Ramona was a ghost town this morning with no Sheriff or Fire department presence to be seen.
How about Reid, how are you doing? I thought you lived in or close to Escondido?

We're in Tierrasanta now, but our old neighborhood currently has a mandatory evacuation. We had to evacuate that neighborhood back in '03. Tierrasanta also had to evacuate in '03, but we're not in any danger at the moment.

Thanks for asking. Stay safe everyone!

Dave - at least go use the cruiser to deliver cases of water to the fire fighters on the line in the remote areas! One suggestion tho - make damn sure those gas tanks on the INTI are EMPTY!

All safe here. I'm in Mira Mesa, so I'm very interested in the radio updates.

Ya, I'm a little pissed off that all the wheelin spots are going up.

This morning I saw an idiot throw a lit cig out her window. At the next stoplight, I let her have it

Hey John, everything OK at your place?

Wouldn't it be great to all have hams and form some kind of first responder or scouting group?

Thanks Eric,

I tried to head south twice today. Realized that getting back north was going to be the problem. Turned around.

Fire at one point was probably 5-10 miles as the crow flies from the ol' homestead. Starting getting the pictures ready to go in the truck. All appears to be OK for me at the moment.

Will be heading to the shop in the morning.

Thanks for asking. My prayers and best wishes go out to all who have suffered losses.

John

I was at work till' noon when I no longer had anybody to give me work so I headed home after making sure all my family and friends were OK. If I don't have to go to work tomorrow I am going to go volunteer.
I looked over at Qualcomm as I was going over Mission Valley on the 805 all I could see were lines of cars trying to get into the parking lot.

I am keeping you guys in my prayers. It sounds like it actually is as bad as the media is making it sound over hear.....I was hoping that was not the case. We couldn't even help you out it out if we had a way to, we only have around 80 days supply of drinking water left in North Georgia. Luckily we might get an 1'' rain tonight. I would love to donate that inch to you guys if I could.

Stay safe,
Smit
