We decided to leave these alone as they were as clean as the motor. Obviously well cared for. Casings are cleaned, these go back together with some new OEM seals. Moving along, we're down to small parts now.

Snowing here in NH. Again. Dreaming of driving salt free roads and open trails in the 80.

We await a single part before the drivetrain can go home again.

@Meshal is going to take it on a cross country break-in/shakedown tour. getting close!

Things get a bit dusty over there. But listen to that new motor.

700 km of shakedown now. No leaks, running great. Thanks @Meshal

i had a short road trip with around 2 to 3 rpm and engine and transmission all smooth. gas consumption is unbelievable good so i think ill do another two full tanks again and see how it go. Small tank gave me around 330km. also, after 1000 km, ill take it to sand dunes and try all of it.

things in the list to do next:
- find a new heater core to replace the current one
- revisit the break system and probably change some stuff to make it ready.
- get new propeller shafts.

first wash from last summer. Washing it then complete a 1000 km so i can go for more than 3 rpm to make sure no leaks or oli consumption. I have no issue with gas consumption, thanks to the new carb.

I forgot to mention one job that @navydivedoc is looking for is replacing all gas hoses as much as we can and all tank gaskets. I totally recommend do this with all trucks to make sure no gas leaks and no dust or sand in the tanks. Toyota still provides about 70% of those hoses but will see.

Everything looking good mid shakedown.

Road trip. North of 1000km of break in. Over 3k rpm authorized. @Meshal is promising a dune run.

this is a road trip for about 2000 km; the protocol this time to drive over 3 to 3.5 RPM then do higher RPM in the sand later this week. Every morning we check oil leaks, and if there is any oil consumption, we got the first 1000 km with no issueEvery morning we check oil leaks, and if there is any oil consumption, we got the first 1000 km with no issues.

152kph (~94mph) and you took a hand off the wheel to snap a picture of the cluster!
The truck must be rock solid steady for you to do this. Kudos. Looks like a great truck

He was on two wheels to boot

As you may know, all J80 in middle east equipped with dull gas tanks. after testing the gas consumption twice; the first try was under 3 RPM the second one was variable between 2.5 to 3.5 depending on the road. Those tests preformed as 80% highways.

Get this unbelievable news:
First test got me about 900km and the second one got me 890!
I have more KMs to do this week. the plan is to finalize about at least 5 to 6 k km.
