My wife says she is considering signing up this year…. But with the stipulation that there is someone other than me in the passenger seat because “she don’t need no lip” on how to drive. In fact, she suggested it might be best if I just stay in camp that day. 😳
It happens.

Tail gunner status with a diesel has its advantages in that you can watch how everyone else messes up a line.
Does your tail gunner assumption imply something? ... Like all diesels smell bad? If so, not all diesels or gas engines are created equal in emissions. lol

I am laughing because I was recently on some trails with friends. I had my BJ70 and another friend was leading in his TDI D90. After a few hours, I was asked to move up to follow the D90 so everyone else could enjoy fresh air from a Toyota diesel. I think that D90 injection pump was not set correctly.
Rolls can change depending on the actor. :bounce2:

If you were talking to me, go for it.
If you weren’t talking to me, also, go for it.
Wow, that was pages ago! Thanks for the nudge. I was working on James’s new FZJ75. What a beautiful truck!

This turned out amazing, Ian. Who took this photo and what camera did they use? I need to up my game, again.

Ha, thanks Mike. I took the photo. Used my iPhone.
With photography, it's about lighting and angles, not so much the camera.

Well it turned out amazingly. Are you offering a campfire photography class during SAS?
I actually was thinking about doing that in conjunction with one of my trail leading runs. I guess the first one would make the most sense.

Could also do 'round the fire stuff but practical field lessons are the best.

Well, since the can is kind of open, here is what I would like to put out there as a run idea:

Improve your photography and photographs by learning to see light, shape and form in ways that professional photographers do.

Maximize the versatility of whatever camera you’re using whether it’s a top of the line dslr with the fastest lenses or an iPhone.

Explore unique and unconventional photographic techniques to turn your snap shots into photographs.

I will also cover post processing to bring out the best in your favorite photos.

This will be done on one of the easier runs and will be limited to a reasonable number of (8?) attendees
.

If you don’t know me I’ve been a professional photographer and commercial art director for more than two decades shooting mostly adventure brand based advertising as well as slice of life human interest stories. I love sharing photographic knowledge and am a proponent of more better photographs in this world.

PM me to sign up -
Thanks,
Ian

Want to partner? I’ll offer some history lessons learned from the local mining and native communities. Half of it will be true. What day are you thinking?

That could be fun.
Thinking right off the bat so folks would have some skills to hone throughout the week?

You should’ve heard my history lessons on my Red Mountain/CruiseHer make up run last year: That cave used to be a Seminole Indian record store that Jimmy Hendrix played an unplugged set in in 1794…

I bet that we would drive 2 miles in 10
Hours. It sounds like a blast.
