That’s right. I tried to forget that memory. I guess some people are okay on the edge. I’m pretty sure that edge would have given away if I had put my tire that close.

Are you going to run Black Bear again this year? It would be neat to compare with your new sway bar.

Thanks. I’ve got a deep love/hate relationship with Photoshop at the moment, and it is mostly hate. For the life of me I cannot replicate the image of Dennis and me on Stony Pass, but with James’s new 70-series truck.

The left side of the Black Bear magnet was made using GIMP (before you convinced me to ditch GIMP) and the right is PS. I’m happy with this. If you zoom in you can see Richard’s 80 behind me, and 2 70-series behind him. In the back is James and Shervin in the 60.
Happy to take a look at what you're wanting to do and see if I can help. tarcher.solidaxlesummit@gmail.com

Na, One year we had one of our own farther over the edge than that. 😲 We did have to back him up and get him back on the road.

This angle on the steps don't look that bad and they truly aren't. The issue is there isn't very much room for error if you slip off the edge.

Oh.
It gets worse.

Guy got real snotty when Mike tried to help him, said "this is the way I always do it". Obviously experienced, but in my world overconfidence is what gets you every time.

Saturday 1/31 KOA UPDATE:
Our main contact guy had to go off for regional training this past week. He was hoping his coworker would have been available to help him with calls but she was too busy with another group whose deadline for booking was this past week. Again they have a very small staff durning off season.

Our guy is taking the weekend off (well deserved) and will resume calls on Monday. He was able to make several call yesterday, Friday 1/30.

PLEASE DONOT CALL THE KOA - THEY WILL CALL YOU.

**Make sure voicemail is set up, able to receive voicemail or answer if you see a call from KOA / a call with 970 area code. **

Short wheelbase vehicles recommended or not?
A whole group of short 70's went down in front of me. Picked a whole different line than the 80's and streched 40's and looked scary to me but guy spotting was very good. Very experienced with the 70, very well known, sorry I don't recall his name. Anyway, 40's do it all the time I think. Have an experienced spotter. listen to your spotter even though it may be counterintuitive.

I was so scared, but trusted Mike, like so laser focused on Mike's hands everything else around me disappeared. It was a rush for me for sure as a complete newb, as I had been longing to see what that road was all about since my dad took me skiing at Telluride in the mid to late 70's. So a total rush.

Can confirm, they're working through it.

I would never intend to NOT do it if I'm within 3 states of it!

This has been such a fun run the past two years. Granted, she had to pivot last year as we literally were rolling out of camp. Due to an accident on 550, the trail she had planned was no longer in play. An alternate trail was selected on the fly and everyone had a great time.

For the guys who normally drive the trails, it's nice to ride shotgun for once, look around and see all the things we miss when we're focused behind the wheel.
