edited...actually added another step to the prep paint steps above. Also put some thought into how clean the areas is where you are painting. We (my friend Charles and I ) have painted more than a few cars in his shop. We always clean, wipe down, dust, wash the bay doors, ceiling fans etc the day before. The day of painting we spray the concrete floor with a hose to wet everything down. And we continue to keep the floor wet during painting. Just make sure you don't spray water droplets on your fresh paint. No matter how hard you try you will get dust, hair, and bugs in your paint unless you have a paint booth. If you see a large hair or bug while painting take a piece of tape and roll it on your finger sticky side out and try to dab the intruder to remove. Immediately after spray the area to even out the "impression". Much of the dust and really small bugs can be sanded out of the clear when it dries.

Best to paint in the morning to mid morning before the bugs come out in force. And evening under the lights in summer is the worse. Bugs will creep into your shop and fly around and get in the paint.

You need to add this as well: IF painting in an attached garage, get ready for that smell to penetrate the whole house.

Good info. I bit the bullet and cut the lowest 2" off the rear quarters.
