If you haven't run the CON, this is the year to do it because it is the 20 year celebration.

I'm writing my request for time off today.

will your rig be there, sans roof?

I'd really like to make this run. I did CM'07 but not '08 so maybe I can swing Rubithon this year. Are dogs allowed?

My rig will be there...in what condition and how it will be looking is yet to be determined, or at least it is down to two options.

Steve, Dogs are allowed Luke (4x4 Labs) brings his Vizsla (Vee-sha-la) Lozlo and I've seen a few other dogs on the trail and at camp.

What run are you planning on doing? I have checked out Cruiserdrew's run from last year and it looks like a pretty good one.

Are there any "Wussy" trails?

Was thinking of heading up three this year, wont have the armor by then, but really want to check out "The Con" and my schedule is open in June! Hmmmm

No "wussy" trails, but last year quite a few pple parked on the ice house side and jumped into rigs and hiked the trail then got a ride back to ice house with the guys who were hauling trailers.

So is it gunna be a covered wagon or not?

:hhmm::D

Rubithon: the official TLCA event

gotta have reg $ent in by the end of MAY!

Anyone going that has an open seat? My unlocked rig won't make the cut, but I have the chance for time off and the wife is giving me the green light.

I'll cook.

That's just enough time to throw lockers in her and be ready to go, :) If a seat opens up I'll let you know

I might but can be done /wo lockers with some good spotting, finesse, & luck, first couple times I went open/LSD, 33's :D . Bumpers and skids go along way and you have a cruiser with a locking center diff so go for it but email TLCA 1st the min requirements might be flexable in that regard.

I ran the straight through friday run to the springs which was great last year :) Awesome day of wheelin and enjoying the Sierra's, stiil had time to setup up camp before dark and hit the bar :chug:

Never thought about an Aussie...rear locker and you can do it. If an FJ Cruiser basically stock can do it a loaded 80 can do it for sure.

what sections would I be hung up in specifically?

and don't just answer "the part from the ice house to the lake"

I don't know, spend a few grand on lockers, and another few hundy on gas getting there and home, or ride shotgun and split the funds for fuel and hike it?

who wants a bazillion shots of their rig? c'mon.... I got mad skills with the grill too....
did I mention i have a hook up at Firestone Brewery? hmmm?

Pablo,

If I make it back as I hope I will, I may have a seat or two open. I have to check on a few work dates 1st but should know soon.

In all honesty it depends on how the weather has changed the placement of the rocks and the trail. You will have to use that skinny pedal SO if you are concerned about the potential body damage then better idea to wait. But if you're okay with dents and stuff then the rig will make it.

It is hard to specifically say where you'd get hung up b/c it really depends on where the rocks lie. Sometimes it is point and shoot other times you there is no "easy" line. With good spotting and patience, which there will be, anything on that trail can be overcome.

Thanks for the replies guys, Matt, Sam.....I might have a ride lined up.

Anyone have any good GPS maps or google maps of the runs up there?

I'm gunna have to build the rig this year and take it next year for #21. Everything I read says 35" and double lockers, and I still need a rear bumper thats ledge worthy.

so if anyone scores a deal on ARB's and Longfields axles and Birfs, hook a brutha up!

31"s and open/open sans power steering!
Like has been said, plenty of spotting and good lines....
This is on the "True Big Sluice"!

If I can do it Paul, you can!
