That front really stuffs right up in. Nice!

thanks guys, i really love my 60 and what she has become in these 3 and a half years we have been together. more money than i ever want to know about, and more gallons of fuel and oil than i think i could fathom, but i wouldnt trade it for anything. awesome times, and great memories and still more to come.

for the flex im a little worried about my springs and how long their life will be set up like they are with no bump stops, but i think i will just take my chances run em how they are for now and have them re arched later then add bump stops and fix my shackle angles to help maintain flex as well as spring life.

Get shorter shackles and run without bumpstops until your springs finally die. Then upgrade to 63" chevys in the rear with some longer than stock spring packs up front.

I feel the same way about my 60. I don't think I'll ever let her go.

i have a set of shorter shackles around here i was gonna use on my 40, guess i could run em i think they would get me about an inch lower than i am now. i measured last night and at 30 psi im at 33" to the botom of the frame to ground out back and 29.5" to the bottom of the frame to ground out front. I want it to come down about 4 inches all around.

but i want the long shackles for when i fix my shackle angle to have lots of droop.

meh, ill leave it for now and see what happens i guess, havent actually wheeled it yet and i want to see how it does on a real trail.

You could move your shackle hangers real quick like. That'd fix both problems for the time being.

yea, but im lazy and dont want to mess with them, but that is my plan in the future as it will also extend my wheelbase.

Those longs ass shackles are what make your flex ... So keepem if you dont smash into them too much

oh yea i know they do, thats why i want to keep them so bad once i fix their angle ill be much happier with it.

those are 38.5 X 12.5 .. ?

38.5x16-15's

well ive been kinda second guessing myself on if my caster was correct or not and was thinking maybe i didnt have the truck level enough when i did the turn and my caster ended up a little low.

i know when i added the rear shocks the ride improvement was HUGE so today i decided to see if i couldnt make the old front shocks i had work somehow.

after digging through my tool box of spare nuts and bolts i came up with something i thought may work and i could see if the ride would improve any or not. I still had bump steer with the ram assist and hy steer and it would try to wander on the road (the wandering why i thought my caster may be low)

and im happy to report it was an AMAZING difference!! and one of the shocks up front is blown and doesnt do much of anything and i think one of the rears are also blown. but it was still HUGE!

bump steer nearly all the way gone, it still trys to wander a little but nothing like it did before it was actually kinda pleasant to drive! and i think the drivability is about the same now as it was when sprung under still so im pretty happy, i think my caster may still be a little low but im not worried about that, after i fix my shackle angle it will increase the caster and i bet it drives amazing!

so here is a couple of pictures of what i did, it is only a temporary solution to make it more reasonable to drive and see if there was any major change or not, so ignor the ghetto'ness of my design.

those are grade 10 something bolts so they should be pretty resistant to bending but we will see i guess, like i said it was a temporary thing mostly done to see what the change would be if any. to keep the shock in place i welded a washer on the bolt

Well today I washed the truck for the first time in well over a year, with soap even! took me nearly an hour to get it back to my liking as it had some stubborn clay on it that didnt want to come loose, but she looks amazing now!!

then i went to walmart and got me some new sandals and did the normal look at hot wheels and matchbox cars, found a couple cool muscle cars in the how wheels and matchbox released the 2010 land cruiser model! i have the yellow 09 model (still looking for the blue 09 model) and now i have the 2010 model!

yup, gotta love em. that one and a small collection of others that i have will stay in the packages. the yellow 40 that i have that is also a matchbox is on the dash of my 42. AND the bezel is in the correct orientation, tho on this 68 the turn signals are not correct and it has the late style ones. but over all it is pretty accurate.

I was a hot wheels guy myself, but I never had any cruisers, Bringing back memories....
