This just came today... should help in the sheetmetal dept. :) This and the swag offroad press brake kit I got for my shop press should handle most of the sheetmetal needs on the 60 and for the 55 when I get to it.

48"x16guage box an pan brake... I need to build a stand for it. Wish I could have afford a tennsmith but this should do for hobby use.

I think you're addicted to buying tools and I think that's the real reason behind this cruiser project. You don't really want to wheel, you just want to buy more tools. That's why your :princess: kicked your project out of the garage, it just wasn't big enough for all your tools :p

But seriously, after seeing that cancerous FJ55 this new tool will probably save you money!

Looking forward to seeing you warm up those pitbulls.

I think you're addicted to buying tools You don't really want to wheel, you just want to buy more tools. .

Tools are addictive .. hey Zach you need to go out and prove they are wrong ! ( but still need to buy more tools :D )

I haven't seen a shot of the 2 post lift??

We could get to be real good buddies when that goes in. I can keep the liquid refreshment supply topped off.

One thing I'm enjoying about this thread is the 60 has become more hard core than most things in Hard Core, but you've left it in the 60 forums.

Dude I know that's right! If I have the $$ to buy a specialty tool I need but don't have yet (even if I may only use it once or twice), I buy the damn thing. :meh::grinpimp:

Got to play with my new brake.

First I made a template with some cardboard (actually my a fried made a rough template then I made another 2.0 version of the first template) Here it is flattened out:

Then I transferred it to some 16 gauge steel:

Then started bending and put some light tack welds on it:

it took a lot of patience to clip, grind/sand, plasma, etc but it fit pretty darn snug in there. I've got a couple spots on the fender that need a bit more tweaking for the ruffles in the floor board but its not too shabby so far:

Plan is to weld it into place....

ha, they are built from 16 gauge so I bet they would work as jump seats. :)

Still got a bit of grinding to do but at least I'm moving forward again. I am thinking about Rhino lining (the DYI version) the interior rear section after I get them all welded into place.

Thanks to Metal Tech... I got some sloppy seconds. They got some unbelievable new machines in there. Crazy to think that they upgraded from this but they did. Although I was very happy with my old welders they felt like toys compared to this thing:

The last pic doesnt show it but I got the fenders all welded in this morning. The coating that is the back of fj-60s comes out like butter with a air chisel by the way. Like an idiot I spent an hour grinding/sanding it out. Live and learn I suppose.

What the lastest and greatest in DIY bedliner these days?

Lookin' great! I look forward to seeing it back in the real world! I've heard nothing but good things about that welder. They didn't happen to upgrade any plasma cutters, did they? :D
