doing my best to slowly widdle this thing down to a buggy. :)

I'm looking your path .. :hillbilly: if that makes you happy .. go for that dude ..

Pull put htat boddy and start builing your tube body ..

:)

It still needs to be a full bodied rig for at least more few years for the kids... after that who knows.

I have stood over mine with a saws-all thinkin about it a few times :hhmm:

tube frame body with body pannels .. :D

so to prove to myself that cutting the body that far back was a good idea, I bolted up the axle to the wheels and looked. This is at ride height... I refuse to go any higher (25" to frame rail with the 42's). Leaving it there will only give me 2" of bump MAX.

So then I crawled under there and found two more obvious hang ups...

1. The gas tank. Its hard to see in the pic but the top of the pumpkin is too close for my comfort and the axle isnt even all the way back yet. One launch off the sand dune and it'll munch it. hmmmm.

2. Springs are going have to be pretty flat. I'm moving the spring perches but I think I'll have to "french" in the front mount and sleeve the rear side which also means boxing in the frame rail back there.

I better start tracking down a fuel cell. :)

Boots and Dirtgypsy came by today and we got a bit more going:

Cut out the plate for boxing the frame

You should have seen how he was whiling around his 35 spline stub shaft! I have serious doubts that this set of axles are going to break. I'm afraid to take a ride in it because I'm already tempted to start saving for tons.

I'm sure you'll come up with an excuse (more beef!) to keep it garaged a few more months! :D

The rear end is almost done... just need to burn in the front perches and finish griding the d70 perches and set the new perches. I hate grinding though so I'll probably procrastinate for at least a few more weeks.

How about another session on the 28th? Obviously this saturday is out since I don't intend to sleep on the coach either(valentine's day). I'd like to bend some tube by then.

The only conflict may be if my daughter has a soccer game or not. The schedule comes out here shortly and should know more soon. I can't wait for you to teach me how to use my bender. :)

I also have bend tech 3d on the garage computer if you want to play with that too.
