Ref overheating, you must address the source of it , not trying to cool the effects.
The source is in the motor . Bad combustion, or fuel setting

Replacing the 33 year old cooling system won’t hurt. Next is the injectors/ pump rebuild. I think I’ll just do water pump and timing belt then. Maybe even head gasket and head studs.

I went down that route to find that it was the thermostat full of gunk .
Cleaned the cooling system through, replaced the thermostat, running like a champ

Unfortunately that was not my problem. New thermo didn’t do anything.

The pump and injectors are off to Canada and already look a hell of a lot better. I can't wait to get it back and see how it runs.

Up and running again, adjusted the timing, and dropped 100°c in EGTs.

I got the ClarkFab air box in, and it's awesome. ALL the turbo noises now. I can tell the restriction is less and less with all these upgrades. Next up is a proper exhaust. I currently don't have a turbo back, more like a downpipe back.
Another upgrade that went on the list is the Wholesale Auto torque converter and valve body. I didn't even know these upgrades would help with power output. And I am seeing excellent reviews on those two.
It feels good to have the cruiser back!

Swapped my 2 pod for a 3 pod.

A couple of changes before I headed to Colorado a couple of weeks ago.
I finally got my Kaymar rear bar on. And I swapped out to some machined Nomad Saharas.
I'm feeling good about this thing, running like a champ.
