Thanks, I feel like this is taking forever, but looking back on photos technically we didn't start stripping the frame until February.Just did that job...............lookin good bro!!!!
All the shoes are now correctly oriented.Did you notice the ramps (angles) in the adjuster slots?
PS: one of the shoes is backwards. Note how one end of the shoe is skinny and one end is built up fatter. The fat end goes into the adjuster slot. The adjuster slot should be oriented so the taller end of ramp is toward outside.
I see it now. The top of the adjustment ramp between the ears where the shoes ride has a slight ramp to it. tall side of each goes to 3 and 9 o'clock of backing plate respectively.Yes, shoes are correct now.
Sorry, my explanation of the ramps is lacking. The last pic above shows the ramp being backwards. Pry up on the shoes, then turn adjuster 180* so the tall side of the ramp is outside, the shallow end of ramp to inside. The idea is the slope of the ramp should encourage the shoe to move away from the drum after brake application.
thank you for the heads up.Yes, shoes are correct now.
