For the third time I will paint the hood. This time I’m trying spray max matte finish trim paint then satin 2k clear coat.

drive a lawn mower, now picture it being slower. that is a 3FE powered rig.
And if it doesn’t turn out right I can still get the matte clear. The Spraymax 2k stuff goes on nicely and is a two part paint but costs over $20/can. Cheaper than Eastwood 2k products though. You could try orbital-sanding with a super-fine grit (as high as will fit on the sander) and just leave it sanded. Probably would result in a "matter" finish than the new paint and cost <$10. You could probably achieve this by hand, too, but it will take much more effort to not get patterns.
Exactly. All you have to lose is 2-3 sheets of sandpaper. And if it doesn’t turn out right I can still get the matte clear. The Spraymax 2k stuff goes on nicely and is a two part paint but costs over $20/can. Cheaper than Eastwood 2k products though.
Thanks for the tip. Did you find a new manufacturer for 95-97 dash mats?It will dull down. I’d wash it with a wool mitt a couple times, then after that the sun will do its thing over time too.
Yep, should be updating the site towards the end of the week. Thanks for the tip. Did you find a new manufacturer for 95-97 dash mats?
Normal clear coat deterioration is fine with me but the hood and driver side fender looked like skin that peels due to sunburn standing up with a green tint in it like I’ve never seen. The A pillars and roof display normal clear coat and paint deterioration. I’m leaning toward painting the entire truck black.I like patina...
Don’t remember the model number, but looks like the same dimensions as the one I have been running on my 80 for a long time.Derale 13403 stacked plate transmission cooler mounted on home brewed brackets. This cooler is rated up to a GVWR of 26,500 and to dissipate 37,000 BTU/hour. It’s height and width dimensions are a bit smaller than the Toyota unit but has the same 19 row construction and is 2” thick as opposed to, iirc, 1.25” thick for the stock cooler. I’m thinking the stock cooler design is what’s referred to as plate and fin.

It should do the job. @Marco Lau has been cooling his A440 with this 13403 and likes it.Don’t remember the model number, but looks like the same dimensions as the one I have been running on my 80 for a long time.
