on my phone so can't see the detail of the picture that well. Is the support a manual rod or a gas strut? If it's a manual rod, where on the body do you rest it and where on the window do you store it when closed.

how do the latches... latch.... on the inside?

For me I needed to go to a manual rod due to my awning and height. At my height with the window open to horizontal I would run into it. My thought were most will just open it and grab a cold one and let it fall closed.

A gas strut can be done I wanted to wait for input because everyone needs and set up is a little different.

Do you see struts (would require 2) worth the extra cost?

I think the ability to keep the window propped open without having to find a rod would be very beneficial, especially if you are in and out while camping etc. Is the manual rod attached to the window or body..or not at all?

Do you have a ballpark figure to include struts?

Simple, just have two or three attachment points spaces out maybe .75" for the lift arm end. Just move it to the hole that gives you the height you need.

Simple is what I have now;) and free

It was also recommended I use 2 struts

My rod does not attach given the ability to adjust depending on awning. Looking at the awning angle from last weekend I not sure I would even want the window open at all.

a quick estimate came up with parts around $60

It's only a quarter to 4. Plenty of daylight left......:)

Is there a size drawing/schematic of the side window opening minus the glass runs and weather stripping?

Correct fitting struts would be a wonderful finishing touch to a well thought through quality product you have put together. Good luck. !

I like it, but $900 for two sheets of aluminum, 4 hinges, 4 latches and a few feet of rubber seal?

I glad you like it, but I would rather you respect the time involved.

I put together most of the product for my own needs and offer them up for interest for others. I do not make my living doing so it does not matter if I sell another. Having been successfully self employed most of my life I do find the need to get compensated for my time. Believe it when I say I have many hours of time and research to come up with the parts and pieces for a usable trouble free product.

Maybe this kind of stuff is super easy for you. I encourage you to grab two sheets of aluminum, 4 hinges, 4 latches and a few feet of rubber seal and offer to all the muds guys for a fraction of the price. I would welcome it with smiles and many likes to your post. My bonus I would not need to spend my time doing so. I will be your first customer ....Paypal

And R&D time, shagging hardware time, cutting time, labor, beer money.

A sale without a profit is a gift. Do you work for free?

Awesome Phil another awesome product..!! Can you post an upclose picture of the manual rod and how it sits closed and open

I didn't mean any disrespect. You asked for thoughts and I gave them. I like the products you come up, you're filling a void in a niche market. But I still maintain that the price is too high. That is my opinion and you don't have to agree with it. "R&D" is not scrolling through the pages of the McMaster Carr catalog.
