I specifically mean the rearmost seats, third row. Trying to get a flat floor, like when removing the jump seats in the 100 series.

Yes you can pull the 3rd row and it’s fairly easy. Adds a good bit of room. I’m actually getting ready to pull my second row as well for a platform build out in the nearish future

I assume it leaves threaded holes in the floor where the seat frame attached?

Yes. But you can cover them by getting a Heritage edition floor mat.

At one point in time, some human put that third row into the car. And I assure you, that at any point in time going forward, another human is certainly capable of taking that third row out.

I removed mine and put in drawers. I don’t remember the details, but it was bolts and whatnot, and I just unscrewed them.

This thread was very helpful when I removed the 3rd Row a while back:
200 Series Third Row Removal - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/200-series-third-row-removal.993890/

I don't recall if it is mentioned in the thread or video, but there are a few things to keep in mind along the way.
-Be careful taking the plastic covers off, try prying both sides at the same time evenly, one of mine cracked significantly.
-There will be two holes left in the metal portion of the floor that is easily covered with tape to keep junk out, as others have done.
-The Heritage Edition all weather rear mat will cover the holes left in the carpet like @dnh1 mentioned. (Part #PT206-60200-02)
-A few people make solutions to cover the big gaps left in the wheel well plastic trim, some are linked near the end of the thread above. However, I went with the cleanest look I could find, that I felt would be the least likely to scratch anything I put in the back hatch (i.e. no square edged metal tie-downs etc.).
I went with a guy in Australia that 3D Prints a few versions with & w/out d-rings (not affiliated, but a good dude, and nice clean solution for black interior)
SPECIALIST 3D PRODUCTS - https://s3dp.com.au/custom-4wd-products (If I recall correctly, I just e-mailed him from the site asking about the 200 Series 3rd Row delete covers)

This is complete with the original floor mat, D-Ring Trim Covers installed in the wheel well gaps:

Yes, you can see the holes in the carpet in @WhensLunch post. There are some threaded holes in the metal that should be covered with tape or dust from outside the car can get inside. There are also the brackets on the wheel wells that stick upward.. a couple companies make expensive covers for these, others use the anchor to bolt a ring to for tying things down. These are in @dnh1 post.

I cut some blocks out of 1x4 wood to fill the holes and prevent soft spots in the cargo mat above the carpet holes.

Takes less than 10 minutes to remove both seats. 5 minutes to make a space and lift the removed seats to place them on a shelf in the garage. Where they will remain until you reinstall the seats and sell the vehicle. Easy peasy.

I haven't had an issue with the soft spots...yet. Definitely stealing the 1x4 filler idea!
