seat removal

Can the rear seats be removed for extra storage like the 100 series?

do Not find seat removal possible even with tailgate UP. WOULD find step by step instructions very helpful. BTW: eagerly awaiting arrival of driver seat insert from Relax the Back. Will restore support and color choices allow good match to factory gray leather; $200 well spent IMHO

I recently removed the third row seats of my new-to-me 200, which was a horror story for a different time. But in the process I noticed these funny things stuck in what would be the third row armrests. Any idea what they may be? They're on both sides... Thanks, Ryan
