rear hatch storage. Molle system?

How about one without the seat belt opening? I don’t see my third row ever going in again.

Good point

I wouldn't mind some of those metal panels that replace the rear quarter glass. I never open those windows for ventilation, and having them for access to stored items would be great. I've seen them listed for 80 series but not for a GX.

The cit out in the panels are for the windows.

There’s a company in AU that makes a gull wing style pop out like Yodateq does for the 80. I’ll try to find the link.

Maybe emuwing.com.au

I don't care for the textured metal. For nearly $800 you'd think they would let you choose! I'm also guessing that was the easy way to make the hinge work without losing interior space. I would have thought they would use those C-shaped hinges, something like this:

Orange Boxx is starting to prototype a rear door table/storage system. Follow them on Instagram and FB for updates. I'm not the mockup monkey this time, so I dont have a bunch of details. That is a pic of my color matched window rack in an earlier post.

Here is what I did with mine. Not a whole lot of storage but much better than the factory net. I did a write up in the best mod under $100

I am still not clear how you riveted the panel in... How were you able to rivet the last side in and keep it tight? Also which panel did you get and where?

Hey, I actually just rolled the edges on all four sides and put the rivets in from the front side behind the molle loops. There are better pics in my best mod for under $100 write up.

It might need some lube, it should lock in and firmly hold the door open, but if it's dirty or hasn't been used it might be hard to lock open. However, I can't express how much I love the rear door gas strut mod. Super easy (though you need a Dremel or similar to remove a metal part) and the suggested gas strut part that's on the mod instructions here and on GXOR seems to be the perfect one IMO.

So... not to distract. But how exactly well does the door strut lock? Does it fall into place and "lock" if you pull the door all the way out? When the door is fully extended, I've tried to push the strut back but it doesn't budge... it does feel like it's in a "slot" though and I'm not sure if that's the lock, because it's pretty easy to overcome.

That gull wing window mod thing- I bet it makes all kinda racket at speed. And a pretty healthy blind spot, too?

I know man but it does look bad ass! I don't think the blind spot is the issue, but you think a lot of noise? That would suck...

EDIT: Just had an interesting idea - gull wing plus Orange box panel and you mount your custom electronics panel there, access it from outside on the gull wing. Rear/wiring all accessible from the interior panel if needed....
