The rear door has a lock on it. Once you open it, push the black arm at the bottom in and it will lock it open. Pull it back out to let it close.
 
Biggest issue would be supporting it as it is screwed on and I don't think the plastic panel won't support much weight.
 
dont waste your time or money on the s***tybuilt products. i had their seat covers in my 4runner... yeah they looked cool, but they are complete garbage. both set ripped out and fade in less than 4 months. what a total joke.
 
Iv thought a bout building me a hinder fold down door like adventure driven did ... to replace the cargo net

So... not to distract. But how exactly well does the door strut lock? Does it fall into place and "lock" if you pull the door all the way out? When the door is fully extended, I've tried to push the strut back but it doesn't budge... it does feel like it's in a "slot" though and I'm not sure if that's the lock, because it's pretty easy to overcome.
