Just curious, wngrog...with the truck empty, how much additional lift (inches) can you obtain beyond you’re modified OME Heavy lift when fully inflated?

Good question. I’ll go get it and see.

I leveled it out front and rear at 36” then juiced them to 90psi and it went up to 38.5”

It’s thick rubber. It can move side to side. I would not customize anything.
So with 20psi in the bags and the lower fitting plate being free of the U bolt . Are you thinking that the bags will just wobble uncontrollably .Id hate to be in the woods playing around and then rip one of my bags due to over extention.
Any thoughts?. I kind of like your old setup that didnt have lower attachmnts , but ive never played with this type of thing before, although i will be getting some type of air lift to tow 3500kg trailer.regards

My question regarded the flexibility of the bags with only one side being secured, but i guess you didnt test that, regards.

No. Why would you do that? If your truck has some kind of crazy high lift get the set with 3 bulbs versus 2
i just want a low lift option, and use an air bag to tow 3500kg trailer, plus if i went through some ditch and bump stopped one side and unloaded the other side, i just didnt want to rip my air system apart. If its not connected and i do something stupid in a ditch i dont have to stress on the bag being stretched.

If someone has tested the double by always having a minimum pressure in it to keep it from side play, then when i need the bags to tow i add extra psi, but in all other conditions the bag has a self seating lower foot that finds its place to diff or spring. but can separate during mad cross ups for full traction on both sides, but if you didnt test it doesnt matter. Its a quality bag for sure.
Hope you understand my question now.

Buy hey , i just figured on a good mod to develop on the self planting foot. A secondary 2 bar swing arm ro help return the foot in extreme driving modes.. The length of the swing arm returner , pre load bag psi and bag height at preload, cheers . Some company needs to develop that. Id buy that kit.

You are overthinking this.

Install them as directed. Don’t put air in them.

Air them up when you need them.

You’re “mad cross ups” are designed into the system. If you can tear these things up while empty (or full) during there mad situations then you’re axle is not correctly mounted to your land cruiser.

It’s rubber. Thick thick rubber.

We over think and over kill everything in finland. Its growing on me. Ok thanks grogy.
I looked at these, SumoSprings® by SuperSprings® International, Inc. I got a set on spec. Probably will put them up front on
my 60 just to see how they assist front end plunging offroad.
They have a double set called 'REBEL', look them up.

But if you're worried about over-extension with the airbags then look at the 09T the T meaning 3 bag for taller suspension
travel. The bags are too stiff to move even with minimal air.

So its possible a self planting foot using the rigde on the U bolts as the locators will work .cheers
I see what you're saying, I know of one person who made a mating ring welded to the bottom of the boot mount,
this fitted into a solid mounted ring on the axle so they could separate and then would self center when it came
together.
That's what the SUMO REBEL does, but with soft parts.

Hey Wngrog, I noticed you still carry the crossmember and tire crank. You'll save
twenty pounds of weight it you take it off. I know, I weighed it when I just removed
mine for the long range fuel tank.

My frame back there is Cheese. I look at it as a crossmember:)

I had a long talk with John at SloCruisers. I had already looked them up on site, then went to Boss site in Australia. I purchased the 09T set from eBay but there was an issue. So John stepped up and sorted it out for me. They are ready for pick up at home. I’m excited. Okay, the two bulb 09 are the normal kit. I purchased the 09T which is the 3 bulb kit indicates 2”-6” of Lift. I decided that with OME CS005RA extra heavy 3” lift kit. I wanted a longer airbag just in case of forced extension. This answers that question above as to whether they will remain attached or as a unit without tearing. With the research I’ve done I don’t think it’s possible, these bags are stout! They are also the only airbags on the market capable of 160 psi. I’d need that only to carry all the gold I have to pay for it!
Pics when I get home.

I just got home from a 700 mile trip with my new airbags.

I can’t tell you how much better it performed on and off road.

Superb upgrade. Simply superb.

I kept the pressure on with about 90 miles of Offroad driving

We drove super curvy roads both days.

Really amazing.
