Thanks for the pics! Sheesh, those things are big. I hope that I got the exhaust right on mine.

For myself, and anyone else thinking about air bags, thanks for the side to side comparison. With that, and your install info with the frame drilling nightmare for the AirLifts, it is now a no brainer on which set to get.

I feel like I should send you a few dollars, beacause you probably saved me some.

Next time you are in Colorado, I will by you a beer (or 2......)

This is great. With the removed leaves, you essentially have medium rear springs for regular use and can put the BOSS to work when you’re rollin’ heavy.

Yes and I’ll keep a bit of air in them all the time for body roll which my 84 has a lot of with only one swaybar

No air. With the tent on and nothing inside I sit at 36” ground to under fender front and 35” rear

Just 10# air put it level at 36” all around

This is within 100# of fully loaded. All the gear I take is in. Tank full. Jerry can Full.

Just add burritos, beer and bourbon

22# in the side I removed the long leaf from and 12# in the other.

This is a good mod.

So fully loaded, how much pressure in the bags?

If I remember right, you shouldn't go above 100psi. I usually ride at 70psi fully loaded on the highway. Less for off roading but never at 0 psi.

Why so much pressure?

There is a lip on the bracket under the frame that pushes up and takes the side to side pressure off the bracket.

Good tip. I’ll watch them though.

Hands down - the mount for your newer set of bags is much better. I believe the other ones would have damaged the frame

Why so much pressure?
I don't need that much, I like the stiffer air ride. Kinda feels like a sports car. Plus I don't have a sway bar in the rear.

Did anyone make a custom locator foot for the air bags so one side can free float when the diff is radically crossed up and it simply uses the U bolt shape to locate when one or both sides are loaded. I took the liberty of making a paint drawing.

I’m confused...
(1.) Who is running the SLOCRUISERS BOSS Airbag System?
(2.) Are you using Kit LA-09 (Standard height to 2” lift) or Kit LA-09T (2” to 6” lift)?
(3.) Looks mighty close to the hot tailpipe. Did your installation require the tailpipe to be bent away from the bag?

ThanxTerms and Conditions

I installed the non lift Air Lift bags to start this thread.

Had to add janky block to make work.

Someone said theirs popped and linked the Slocruisers Boss bags

I figured that was a better setup so I S-canned the Air Lift for the Boss’

My kit is for 0-2” Lift and it works fine fully flexed
