Wow, why is this so inexpensive?! This truck is owned by my wife’s company and they’re looking to liquidate it. I volunteered to help. Initially I was going to put a bunch of effort in and make it all pretty, but I rather list as-is to see if there’s any local Mud interest before going to other avenues.
The bad:
CEL - P0137 which is typically the rear O2 sensor. The truck’s cat was stolen several years ago, the cat and O2 sensors were replaced with quality parts (Denso sensors) but something is no longer happy. I believe there is a slight exhaust leak or perhaps the rear sensor is indeed bad. Ultimately this is the reason for the current price. The initial plan was to clear CEL and sell with current inspection, but figured I’d see if anyone wants it as-is before listing at a higher price. Currently the engine runs just fine and I’ve put nearly 100 miles on it.
Tires. They’re old and show dry rot. I’m perfectly fine running around town as they are. That said, for transparency, many would recommend replacement. Good news is a set of new tires in this small size can be had for less than $450 installed. Maybe less if you go the used route.
The not so good:
Blower resistor. It goes on the fritz after a few minutes so it only blows on the high fan setting.
Exterior. It’s lived outside for nearly all its life and was used as a work truck. Dull paint, dings, faded plastics, and hazy headlights. Again this is why I am ashamed, I like to clean myself stuff before selling.
Valve cover gasket. It leaks.
Driver’s door check is broken.
Excessive wind noise from driver’s door due to ripped weatherstripping.
Missing spare tire.
The good:
It’s a Toyota. A cheap, working Toyota.
Radio works.
Heat works, AC blows cold.
Clean NC title. It is titled under the company’s name; I have an agent of the company available to sign the title.
I just hauled several hundred pounds of wood this past weekend. It’s a cheap truck that would make a great first car, a reliable daily, or a handy truck around your property. I’m not intimately familiar with it but I’ve tried to flag all the big negatives. I’m happy to discuss in more detail and show it to interested buyers; shoot me a PM.
