Does anyone know if the Quick Hinges are still being made? I ordered a set from MC design offroad in July, They took my money but never sent them, I have emailed them multiple times but never had any response. Thanks

Excellent update. Congrats on getting your small business back up and running. I was at dinner last weekend when a jeep buddy commented l, hey, why don't you paint your tube doors to match your truck. My response, cause those tube doors currently swap to 2 trucks with a third coming thanks to the custom hinges.

I was able to press a bunch of hinge pin bolts today while picking up my taco DD. The local mech is my former shop boss when I was building overhead cranes before I started the hinges. I’m hoping to get two to three orders out tomorrow before I drive to Detroit for my first set of AF obligations in the morning.

The SS hinge bolts are a bitch to dress properly and press. I have to spend more time with that aspect with hoping the fab shop I’m trying to use will follow my specs.

Got two Super Sets sent out before leaving and have a regular set prepped and along for the ride.

Erik - (trying not to hijack the hinge discussion) love those tube doors and was thinking same thing with getting a set of these hinges. Can you tell me your experience with these doors?

I'm not Erik, but I did post a review of the same MetalTech tube doors a while back, if it is any help to you:

Tube doors: Redline & Metal Tech compared on the same truck - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/tube-doors-redline-metal-tech-compared-on-the-same-truck.623479/

Pretty much @1911 's review. They were easy, work with the hinges. I had to slightly modify the latch to fit the older tub. I did add a "RAM-B-237U Ball Adapter with 1/4"-20 Threaded Post with B Size 1" Ball" avail on the amazon.
with red locktight as an interior release handle. Don't tighten all the way down or it will bind. Ill prob make a second set of latches later for another truck. I easily could have made a set of half doors but not worth the time. I believe an earlier set of hinges needed a slight grind in one spot to clear a weld on the door but I'm pretty sure that has been addressed because I don't recall which set I installed on these half doors because they just fit. A small piece of weatherstripping on the door to keep it from rattling is another slight mod on an older tub. Pretty sure I had read all there was to read on half doors and I've known mark for years so it was a pretty easy decision.

I got a day away from doing AF stuff and snuck home.

I shared the SW files of the Ambulance Door hinges with my son to 3D print some physical models.

I might have both top and bottom left pieces today.

I’m also hoping to get to the shop by the end of the week to see if they’re working on hinges or not.

A few orders have gotten out finally.

Any news?
I’m working on it. I’m dumb with tech so figuring out the list is a current struggle.

Also getting the supposedly good local shop to care about my fab needs is feeling like a losing battle. I’m hoping to be back near home Friday to meet with them again.

I’m almost halfway through another 3 months of Air Force orders, but instead of being deployed overseas, I’m based about 3 hrs from home with a constantly changing schedule, and frequent trips as ground support.

My last short trip home allowed me to stop at the fab shop to count raw parts which allowed me to order more new components to get more hinges built.

My son also 3D printed some of my ambi hinge drawings. A visit to my local dealer showed that the dimensions worked out.

I’m also getting more local quotes from another shop to maybe get things produced more quickly. At least that shop knows what a Landcruiser is. Maybe that will help?

My Man....
Please keep us updated on this ambi door hinges.
I run your hinges on my 40 both tube doors and hardtop doors and would love to put thise on the ambi doors.

Will do. As I’ve tried to share, my schedule is non existent as it can change multiple times per day due to the command we’re working for.

I need to follow up on the last visit to the fab shop for the parts I requested.

I’ll also follow up with the other shop. Maybe I’ll split up the Front and Ambi-hinge production to see which shop gets it done better.

I’m curious about this too. This is on my short list of things to do, but just curious about the lead time!

Awesome work, and appreciate what you do for work too!

I had to head back to DTW for work, but prepped a bunch of parts hoping to find a press for the bolts while I’m here. Those orders will almost bring me current.

The fab shop told me they’re about 2-3 weeks out on cutting or turning more parts for the rest and for future orders.
