Does anyone know if the Quick Hinges are still being made? I ordered a set from MC design offroad in July, They took my money but never sent them, I have emailed them multiple times but never had any response. Thanks

I just stopped by the shop during my morning break to check on the hinges. They are actively machining the door halves as I write and will be starting the weld process soon after.

I wasn’t feeling work projects too well today after a long (4 day) super drill inspection practice so I putzed around in Solidworks trying to relearn some functions. Got some good help and made some progress with the ambi-hinge bottoms.

I stopped next door during my break to go over things with the welder-setup and fixture stuff. I’ll go de-burr a bunch of flat stock after work so they can get welding, show them what I’m looking for.

The old red primer parts are some I built myself years ago and sent to @landcruisnman for his fixturing, and will be the reference for the new stuff going forward so all old and new parts are compatible.

I stopped over to the shop today to check on things before shipping out tomorrow. Unfortunately I have to go do an AF trip for 2 weeks.

If I can get a family member to stop at the shop and get finished parts I will hope to get help with starting shipping before I get back. Otherwise I will get after shipping them when I get home.

Great product. Thanks for the transparency.

These are on my to get list.

Chatted with the shop this morning. They have everything that needed welding - welded. My project gave them an excuse to finally buy a new shop tool. They’re picking up a bandsaw for trimming the bolts to length. I use long bolts to get as much unthreaded bolt in the bushings as possible.

I’ll be following that throughout my tdy and when I’m back.

It’s been a minute since I’ve updated this.

The shop has their new band saw and is building a fixture to trim bolts. I’ll stop in tomorrow to check on progress.
Any updates or thoughts on when they will start shipping?

I started dressing threads on my last batch of bolts to allow clean pressing in the door halves. (When the bolts are made, the thread OD ends up bigger than the unthreaded shank.)

I’ll finish them on my breaks tomorrow and deliver them to the shop next door and pick up a bunch of door halves to start pressing already cut bolts. I have some bushings to press too and then I can start getting some kits together and finally start shipping.

I also have to do a booster and MC on my DD taco. MIL orders start late next week so the hustle is on…

Not yet. The new shop has to get the process in order for the front door hinges first and then will work on the ambi hinges.

I start my 3 mo of MIL orders later this week, but I’ll have my laptop with Solidworks to keep working on them. My son has a 3D printer to help me do some models to check with trucks at a local dealer.

I’ll also be home on some weekends to maintain the current backlog and focus on getting current orders shipped.
Dibs! They look great. Any word on the ambulance door hinges?

Excellent update. Congrats on getting your small business back up and running. I was at dinner last weekend when a jeep buddy commented l, hey, why don't you paint your tube doors to match your truck. My response, cause those tube doors currently swap to 2 trucks with a third coming thanks to the custom hinges.
