Did you bring your snow chains? I think weather is warming up. Looks like a nice weekend for racing. Hope it keeps the dust down,

Rob, I will be there Friday 1/31. Looking forward to this.👍

EDIT: Just spoke with Jake. He also plans to arrive on 1/31.

Great seeing you John!

The Rusty Nail camp feels like a Ih8mud reunion, Cruiserheads from all over

Our race is tomorrow, we go off the start line at approx 10:11am and have a 195 mile, 3 lap race. Rob and I pre ran approx 20 miles yesterday, it’s rough out there. It will take a small miracle for us to get 195 miles in 5.5 hours. Either way, we’ll be smiling. 😁

Yesterday I had the honor of being part of the Rusty Nail Racing pit crew for Rob. Cell service is very spotty and s***ty at best. I came home last night and Rob asked me to give everyone a quick update on his race.

That being said, Rob, Kurt and the 45 did great!!! I’m not going to get into details of what they encountered during the race, I will let Rob and Kurt give their first hand accounts of what went down during the race once they get back into civilization and decent cell service.
All I will tell you they did complete 1 lap of 65 grueling miles in a vehicle that rides like a rodeo bull that just had his balls whacked with a whiffle ball bat!!

So stayed tuned for them to jump in and share their experience.

I got a few glimpses of him on course durning the live feed. I did EMC one year on leaf springs in my 4runner, swore I would never do that again, came back the next year on coil overs and links. My hat is off to Rob and the team for sticking with it out there. I can not wait to hear about the race. Rumor has it there was a cow involved! LOL

Full race write up to follow. We broke it, we fixed it and spoiler alert drove 50 miles on a broken front leaf spring to finish the King of the Hammers 2025 Desert challenge.

Well congratulations Rob!
Really looking forward to hearing about the detail!

BONNEVILLE OR BUST!!!

Rob feeds off the energy around him. Easy to break leaf springs when around his race catheter crew😁

Years of trail fixes came in handy. The entire time Kurt @cruiseroutfit and I worked together brainstorming ideas. The rocks and a 4Runner jack with a 19mm nut welding to it worked great pushing on the shackle forcing the axle and main leaf into place. 50 miles and honestly it was never an issue. Most people out there have No idea we raced with a broken spring. I'm beyond Proud of what we accomplished

look at you two kids playing. Proud to be your friends. Next time in the proverbial mud, can I jump in and be a kid too?

Badass in real time!
