Thanks! That's a good idea, that thing sticks out far once you attach a hose to it. But without the regulator I won't be able to use any other tools right? Perhaps I could use an elbow to have the regulator oriented vertically...

And on a related note, what are you guys using as a tire inflator? I've been searching for a good unit but everything seems to have mixed reviews. I mainly want a chuck I don't have to hold in place for several minutes.
I just ordered this little Schrader valve adapter that screws on. Gonna see if I can build my own contraption

Thanks! I bought a similar inflator at Home Depot. I'll see how the screw-on chuck works. I did consider making my own using a tee, a valve and a pressure gauge. If the screw-on chuck works well, I'll return the inflator to Home Depot and build my own.http://www.gemplers.com/product/HI405/Remote-Control-Inflating-Gauge-Chuck-6-ft-Hose

It has a ring that slides up and down to push in three sets of teeth that grab the valve stem threads securely.
I replaced the poor quality locking chuck on the inflation gauge with the above one.
If I ever have to replace it, I'll just put a T with a dial gauge between a ball valve and that locking chuck.
Im not on often enough but I found this Puma thread interesting enough to throw in my $.2. I have used my Puma for over 4 years now. By far the best investmentever made. I have not only used it to air up my 33" tires, but for on-site mechanical related issues and even road side service for others. From an impact wrench and cutting saw to a cab air blower, this Puma will do anything! I paid $200/shipped 4 years ago and it runs like the day I bought it. I run 4awg with a 60A fuse. I use Anderson connectors so I can simply plug and play with my power inverter and other "goodies?" or I can pull the compressor from the truck and use my clip ends for another vehicle. Anderson plugs are great! Don't think twice, get a Puma if you can get your hands on one. All standard fittings make it easy to modify too. I should work for Puma, lol.
I just bought one of these on ebay for $237 shipped. Did you run the ground and pos from the battery or a grounded bolt hole in the interior or the the ground off on the frame?
If you use the frame as a ground you need run a wire ~#4 from the neg side of the battery to the frame below. The factory negative jumper is undersized and goes to the body only.
