Try airing up a 37" tire with an ARB pump then a Puma. Absolutely no comparison
Looks like he has 2 small and 2 twin tank ones for sale. My question is are they worth the $230+ price tag? When they were in regular production they were like $150 or so, correct? At $200+ aren't you flirting with an ARB or other type of 12V compressor? May be wrong, thanks.
Sorry for the noob question here, but are you saying the Puma is better, or the ARB?

Define better? I have never seen an ARB that comes close to the Puma in air delivery. The ARB comes with a nice sticker, so there is that?![]()
Without having experience with using OBA, it seems my two biggest criteria before buying would be:
1) Reliability
2) Doesn't take forever to inflate my 35s
I have repaired way more ARB compressors than Pumas. There are more Puma compressors locally and they get worked harder. Most of the ARBs are just used for lockers, so only run briefly on each trail run. The Pumas are tasked much more aggressively, used to run tools, air up, etc. Mine has been used frequently, airs up my 37"s then often others tires, mostly 315's. Has never missed a beat in almost 6yrs of hard use.
The Puma works well, is basically an Extreme Air with a tank. The main drawback is size, is larger than most, so can be an issue for mounting. Not a problem for me, the space that it occupies wouldn't be used for anything else.
Enigma said:Puma's are still for sale on Ebay @ $228.

I'm not sure if this has already been covered, but would the benefits be of the Puma over one of these Masterflow units -
( http://www.masterflowair.com/products.php )? I have the red one (bought it a few years ago at Costco for ~$50) and it airs 33s /35s up just fine. I've been following this thread with some interest and debating either ponying up for the puma or hardwiring the Masterflow into my rig.
Tools, it's funny how your spare tire looks much smaller an thinner from the rear.![]()

I've joined the club! Hope to get it fully mounted and wired up this weekend. No more airing up at gas stations![]()
