So you don't have to take the carrier out to do the swap?? If so, That's easy!

X2. And how many times did you have to fish out the right C-clip because it didn't hit the end of the axle shaft just right? I installed an Aussie yesterday, just as easy as doing a Lockright, but I think uninstallation will be easieir than with a LR because of the spring slots.

Thats on my top 10 list, Have you had a chance to run it yet?

if you plan on beating it with 35's or larger don't be pissed if it breaks. I aint sayiun it is gonna cause I seen em last 10 years but I also seen em last 10 miles.

How 'bout 32-11.50's an old F and a light foot?

I have a Lockright in my FJ40 and I've put > 80k < 100k miles on it and that's with 35's. I expect the Aussie to have the same durability.

The cross shaft does get hammered with these lockers, don't have the pics handy or I'd post a couple.

yeah we took it for a spin out back on some hills.

still in awe everytime i put one in, provocruiser was impressed

Hi All:

I consider a Lockrite or Aussie Locker installed into the rearend of a 40/45/55/60 Series to be the best "bang for the buck" upgrade one can do for off-roading! It is also one of the easiest upgrades as well!

I've been running a Lockrite in the rearend for 5 or so years, and installed an Aussie Locker in the frontend about 2 months ago (already have 2 good trail runs on it! Awesome performance on the rocks and in the mud.)

Regards,

Alan

How much has having the locker in the front affected steering?

Hi All:

Well, my rig has a Saginaw PS conversion, so it is not bad. But, it is noticeable!

Driving the rig with the front hubs locked but the t-case in 2wd one notices the increased resistance in steering. When off-roading I normally leave the driver's side hub unlocked until I get to some really hairy stuff to take some stress off of the frontend.

Regards,

Alan

thanks for the pics camcruiser. yes, he helped me install it and it was pretty simple. it would have taken me(non-mechanic) probably an entire saturday, plenty of :censor: words and thrown tools. but thanks to cam it was cake! have not had much opportunity to run it offroad. it does chirp going around corners, i am used to it now. moab is in a week and a half so we'll see how it holds...i am liking the ROTW camcruiser, great work!

well now you know where i live and any help you need, come on down.

You know, I've heard how easy it is to install-in the rear. Is the front just as easy?
I know the diff has to come out (non-removable cover), but no one seems to talk about it.
