Still looking to make a clutch hard line?
It is simple because it goes from firewall mounted master cylinder to firewall mounted soft line junction, so no need for flexible coil shape. Fittings are all conventional M10 inverted flare.

On that fuel pump, make sturdy cap for the return fitting, it can occasionally see 5psi. A short piece of 5/16 hose with a shanked M8 bolt clamped in end is a positive fix.

I always thought the loops in the brake lines were for accident proofing the hydraulics. Would also like to learn why, if that's not the case.

I always thought it was for wiggle room in the lines (slack) when fitting the body to the frame in the factory.

Also allows a greater surface area to flex between body and frame. Body mounts allow for very small movement between the two. If the lines were not looped, the shaking would eventually work-harden the lines causing them to rupture. My thinking at least?

Bingo! You get a cookie!:cookie:

I got a box of parts in from Specter today. They get a premium for parts but they have them. They package them correctly and dealing with trying to get parts off Mud from people is maddening.

Here is my $75 carb spacer that I ended up having to hack down to the spacer itself. This does not fit on my manifold.

BIG pain in the ass this manifold has been. I would have been WAY ahead using the one from the 2F with the broken ear and having it TIG welded. Anyone following this thread....don't use the old manifold. Pain in the ass.

This is what is left of the nice heat shield.

Waiting on Carb studs to bolt it up. I have Carb gaskets but this spacer looks like it has gaskets on it already. I guess it won't hurt to have more.....thoughts?

My hard fuel line was broken, SOR packaged up one nicely and sent it to me so that is ready to bolt up. I also plugged the return hose to JimC spec with a bolt and piece of tube.

Damn, that insulator is was pretty. Never seen a fresh one before.

Don't add any gaskets to the equation. The insulator does the sealing just fine. Gaskets just add two additional surfaces to possibly leak.

Another sweet used part is this fitting for the side of the fuel tank. Again, SOR for the win ......$40......

2 Buckets bought some stuff off of me today that I over or wrongly ordered to keep from having to send it back. He also found this sweet old ass Harry Potter hat looking Tcase shifter he traded me for my new one that looked WAY out of place.

I also WAY overpaid for these defrost hoses but they don't exist anywhere that I could find but Sor.......

Anyone need this Block Off Plate for their late 2F intake manifold? 6 pack of Ultra......

That T-case shifter boot looks right at home in Patina. I think the trucks name should be 'Tina.

@JackA do you have any sort of residual valve or proportion valve on your brakes?

I made the mistake of reading some tech in the 40 section and all the experts there are saying it is necessary.

If you have rear drums, you will for sure need a residual valve on the rear line. Otherwise you'll have to double-pump the brake pedal to push the shoes all the way out.

The residual valve keeps just enough pressure in the line to keep the shoes at the ready.

In my set up, I use the big 4Runner calipers up front and the Monte Carlo disc set up in the rear. With this combo, you do not need a proportioning valve or residuals. I have also seen that a few others have discovered this too.
