I prefer thistle and rhododendron but a Lil von dutch style on the dash could be nice..... Jerry knows a guy ;)

Well...s***fxxx....I have the wrong gas tank. :bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:

Evidently the 45 series tank and the early 40 series tank are very similar but the filler necks are at different angles. The 45 series one also sits higher so the seat frame I built won't work. Anyone interested in a freshly painted and tested 'good' 45 series tank??

Part #

What's another 500 bucks for a new tank....:(

I have a 40 series in good condition if you aren't dead set on new. You could just replace it sometime in the future with similar condition one (if you want to move on with the build. Pretty sure there's no crud inside.

Thanks for the offer but I need the snorkel style and I assume yours is correct for your year which is a different style.

Probably, but it'll be a while. @Mtbcoach

I thought about that...it's listed in the classified section. I would cut you guys a deal

I still have the tank from the 45, was in good shape when removed. However, I'm hoping to have the tank in the stock 80 location, removing it from inside the cab but the fabricator will advise me on that thought. Thanks for thinking of me though...

Is a smart choice...I'd do the same.

Bummer about the fuel tank!
Stellar build so far though.
What wheels are those? I really like them.

Yeah...in hindsight I should have test fitted the tank vs assuming that since it was a snorkle tank it would work. I've always known but are more and more experiencing all the intricacies of these trucks. For them to look so alike, they can be very different.

The wheels are TrailReady bead locks. I purchased them 3-4 years ago from some guy out west that ran them for one race...he had them powder coated their current color that just by luck is close to the color I painted the truck. The rings were a green color that I decided to paint black...might repaint them gold though. Chain out!

Question for those of you that are electrically versed...or just not dense like me...

I've got a carb cooling fan from a 60 that I'm going to run. All I have is the fan, no relays, nothing. I want to have a switch somewhere on the dash/in the cab, that when I switch it on, the carb fan will run for a period of time after the truck is turned off. When switch is turned off and truck turns off, fan doesn't turn on.

This is got to be fairly simple, but I'm having trouble finding something to research as most all setups are thermo based, which I don't want, just timed.

Can someone educamate me?
