I had to use this to get the tranny out!!! :eek: We wiggled it up, down, pried on it, hammered on it, but could only get it to have about a 3/8" gap. I was kind of joking when I suggested to put the binder on it, but it took two full pulls to pop it off. It was pretty impressive. The truck has been sitting in CO for a year and a half and the flywheel, pressure plate, and stuff we really rusty. Is this normal for snowing places?

What happens when the front driveshaft breaks at 45 mph. It took out the brake lines, emergency brake line, slave cylinder, bellhousing, steering (that has been replaced), and knocked the floorboard up about 2 1/2".

Well, I was right, but the super high cut may help me get it even lower if I trim up the inner fenders really well. The only thing on them is the fuse box and a sensor that I can move. The white lines are the probable cuts.

Zero lift, 24" to the frame rails with no bed, gas, tranny or t-case, and 30lbs of pressure in the tires :p:p. Im going to measure my '98 when I get the 300lbs of IFS crap out of the back of it and see what it is stock. It should be about 17"-18"

Im not done cleaning up the fenders and frame and I picked up some plate for the frame, but thats it for tonight.

My oil pan stuff, x-member, t-case skid plate, and U-bolt flip kits should be here Monday too.

FYI, "dead lined" doesn't mean I have a due date, its a term in the militray that means that a piece of equipment "can't move, shoot, or communicate" --> cannot perform its primary function. A truck that has no brakes, no clutch, a hole in the bellhousing, and a dead battery is deffintely dead lined. Some people were confused.

All the damn bracket under the frame made for a lot of grinding while laying under my truck <--- one of the things that I image that they make you do in hell :evil:

The frame flexed out about 2" after I had all of the IFS, body mounts in the front, sway bar brackets, and t-case crossmember out. My handy dandy strap was there to help with the re-alignment.

In my hours of playing on the internet, I found where people do the front spring hanger/crossmember with the IFS stiff intact. I would might try that next time.

This was also when my wife comes in the garage, looks at me like I retarded, and says "I dont get it" or " beauty really is in the eye of the beholder"

My buddy Adam put my 4.7 gears and 23 spline stuff in in about 4 hours :smokin: Thats about 20 hours faster than I could have :flipoff2: He has blown up his Dana 300 five times and now I starting to sell him Toyota stuff for his next build :D

The swap was pretty striaght forward. I only had to pop out a little plug for the new dipstick and seal up the new pan.

I didnt see this anywhere else in my SAS searching though: there was no factory dipstick tube mount so I drilled a hole in the motor mount and we were done:smokin:

FYI: Autozone was the only place that I could find a throwout bearing in stock without having to buy the whole clutch kit.
