Couple more pics because she just looks so good.
Panhard bar bracket installed, needs another alignment, fog light bulbs changed and those Amp Research motors installed…
Probably gonna be Thursday before I bring her home. Luckily I’m busy AF working til then.

Looks great. Big fan of the steps! I had a 5th gen 4runner limited that came with them. Thought I was going to absolutely hate them and rip them off right away but they were just too dang useful lol

I'm at the edge of my seat. Looking forward to bringing her home Thursday hopefully and putting some miles on her with all of the updates.

Are you selling the old wheels/tires by chance? Just picked up a 2013 with 20s and I want to get rid of them.
Sold 4 of them locally… I will have 1 though… the spare 🤓

Other set of steps showed up that I’m harvesting motors out of and selling the rest! And based on what I see motors going for, I’m hopefully gonna make my money back.
Was supposed to get here yesterday but shockingly was delayed (like everything else)

Welp… she back.
Drove her 23 miles home and it was very planted, not bouncy, and very compliant. Definitely not wallowy like the stock suspension felt, sometimes.
Still plenty peppy and didn’t notice much gear hunting, so that’s a bonus too.
And as far as looks go… I love it. I’m gonna rock the hubcaps for now but that may change in the future… undecided.
Did have to do a little cutting in front (pictured) and slight KDSS rub at full lock to the right in reverse, but so far manageable.

First review after ~100 miles…
  • Ride height including the small amount of rake is perfect
  • Amp Research steps are awesome, puddle lights are rad too… still need to wire up the back doors to trigger the steps
  • In general, this 200 is soooo good in terms of look, feel, and driving experience
  • Zero additional road noise with the R/Ts
I do have one issue… and I’m nervous about what goes into fixing it.

I have a small, mild, feel in the seat bottom, see phone holder shaking a little, vibration soon as I hit 60mph and its gonna bug me.
I’m hoping 🙏🏾 that it’s just a balancing issue with the tires but it’s not focused on one side or the other, rather just up front.

I read someone else (link) have similar issue with a ln LX570 and ended up dropping a size in tire to resolve it and I REALLY don’t wanna do that.

Taking it back to my buddy’s shop for KDSS relocation and to try and figure this out, prob this week or whenever the @TRAIL TAILOR KDSS relocation spacer comes in the mail…

Sounds like big tire things. My ATs vibrate and my MTs howl. You’ll chase it with road force and beads etc but I wouldn’t stress too much. If it makes you feel better my current KO2s give me a polite shimmy at 50

Update...

Took her to Butler Tire this morning and after moving the Lambo's and Porsche's outta the way, they rolled my old girl in and did a road-force balance, which seems to have been the smoking gun...

Now she rides as good as she looks 🥳

Took her to the cabin this weekend, got a chance for some Hwy driving for a few hrs and some rural roads towards the end and boy was she compliant and comfortable (and sexy AF)…

Very happy with the updates…

Project Bad-ish decisions has a stable-mate… and Old Blue the 40 will be taking up the 3rd bay at some point in the not too distant future…
