Well… this is my second soirée in the 60 section.

I built the last 62 almost as an homage to my childhood and my dad’s grey 62. I will always appreciate that truck as being a perfect example of what a well tuned all-Toyota drivetrain can do (albeit very slowly). I enjoyed my time with her and moved her down the road to someone that appreciated all of the OEM+ parts of that build.

Then I saw a post by @Unimogguy about a friend that had an LS Swapped 60 that possibly was looking to sell and he got me in touch with @Telly and before I knew it… my 40 and 200 had a new bunk mate show up in the driveway…

Enter Project Good Personality…

After driving her around for a few weeks and confirming my views that 1) 60-series is the best looking TLC and 2) an LS makes everything make more sense…

As I have to do with everything, I felt like she may be THE ONE… so let’s personalize her a bit and also sort a few rough edges while we figure it out.

Here’s the list I had/have in my head…

• Figure out how to get the AC working
• Update the seats to be a little less spongy and a little bit taller… probably with SOR brackets and e90 BMW seats
• Figure out a steering wheel wrap and maybe shift knob because both are pretty sticky, esp in Atlanta summer heat
• Find the same suspension setup that @cruisermatt did for my 62, light duty ome springs and bilsteins… the suspension on there now is fine, it’s just much stiffer than I’m going to regularly need, so I prefer a lighter spring…
• Maybe replace the wheels and tires because………… this one is just because.
• Take a look at an @orikawa center console when they’re available again…
• Eventually possibly replace the exhaust and add a cat because of stink
• Eventually maybe a tune?
• Eventually maybe some shifter bushings to take care of some slop…
• She certainly has some paint/bodywork thing happening on passenger rear but that’s where the Good Personality part comes in… I like the ladies with the scars and sun spots so she’ll remain as she is in that department for the foreseeable future…

Step 2… texted Doug (@Telly ) about what kinda eject button/switch this was. And might I mention that he’s always super responsive to my dumb questions …

Switch is currently not hooked up to anything…

Next up… beginning the AC hookup. Modified the AC Amplifier, this part To Be Continued.

Next up, found some e90 seats in tan and most importantly MANUAL… paid $200, cleaned the $hit out of them, found a small hole in the leather but imma let it ride for now.

Ordered a pile of parts from @cruisermatt … springs (for 40 and 60), shocks, tires, wheels (not pictured)…

Springs and shocks on and some nomad 504s 0 offset wrapped in some Toyo all terrains… we’re getting close…

Here’s some more…
Center caps going in shortly and inside work (seats, AC, center console later) gonna happen next. I took it for a spin with the light duty springs/bilsteins and it was pretty fantastic.
I’m looking for this to be a daily so… setting it up with daily things…

Damn…I miss that 60. So fun to drive. People thought I was driving a turd on the highway until I dropped it into 4th. I’m a big factory rim guy but honestly the new rims look great! Glad you’re making it your own!
