How are you guys sealing the screws where the old roof rack bolted down

My friend and I completed his rack in about 90 minutes today. I was really easy with two people and cordless drills.

What a great design and fit/ finish was excellent.

@LongDuck bought extra cross bars, looks perfect.

No doubt that is the best way but right now I just need to some way to seal the holes with some screws.
If you use screws, make sure they are stainless. PO did that on mine, no issues.

My roof is in pretty crappy condition, clear is gone after years of sun and tree sap. After I take off the factory rack, I am going to fill the holes with Quicksteel (so you don't have to remove the headliner) and grind them smooth, then scuff up the whole roof and roll monstaline on. I am going to try to match the white paint the best I can with the monstaline so it doesn't look weird. Probably a bit more than most people want to do, but my roof needs to be redone anyway.

For you guys wanting one but missed the first group buy stay tuned a second one will be coming before long. I still need to get this CVT Roof Top Tent group buy done before we get another one started.

Well, good things cometh. Rack is due to arrive this Wednesday!

Woo Hoo! :bounce2::bounce::bounce2::bounce::bounce2:

Just got mine. Too bad I am not ready to put it on yet... Good job packing it and looks great so far! Can't wait to get my monstaline so I can get this installed

Thanks again @McDowra for getting this all set up! And thanks Zach for a great deal and product!!!

Has anyone considered using security nuts (tamper-proof nuts) on the anchors? I am paranoid about theft, and have been looking into sourcing something to make it a little harder for the average thief to get away with my stuff.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I thought about taking the welder and tacking the nut to the bolt since I don't plan on removing rack very often. I have done this on the winch all ready for the same reason.

Yeah, I gave that some thought too. I plan on getting a light bar for the rack, and I was gonna use some security nuts on that, don't really wanna weld that on. Depending on price, I am gonna try to find security nuts so that I can remove it without too much of a headache.

Awwww yeah!! :bounce:
