So turbo and 5 spd?
5 speed first, turbo is still far off on the wish list, and if the trans does what I’m hoping, may not need the turbo anyway. I don’t hate on the slow factor, I just hate when it’s obviously struggling when I think that it could definitely be improved with an extra gear and better ranges for my setup.

should've done the manual 5 speed like they have on the 80s in the golf coast

I considered that option, but I prefer a good auto for the off roading. Now that there is a great option coming, this should be perfect for my preference.

That's a reman right? Are you going to try and find a junk yard A750 for the core?
Correct on both…got any leads on a core? o_O Anything $300-$400 range would make it with the hassle, but I’m not going to go crazy trying to find one.

I’ve been accumulating parts for the 40 like mad. Once I have most of the stuff I’ll be full speed. I have to finish this dumb bathroom first. Had to chisel up the tile, grind the mortar down, cut a section of subfloor. Finally tiled a few days ago. Grouted today after my shift…. I’m beat. Vanity built, getting a new s***ter and trim tomorrow. Hopefully done next couple days. Then I can get back to what matters : )

Looking good! Been there, done that…not easy even though it’s a small area. I was fortunate enough to find a great local tiler that took care of my master this time. I did it last time and lasted 25+ years…took me months to do though in my “spare” time. Fortunately the wife was totally on board with hiring out for this one!

Yea. I hate finish work. Our master will be contracted out 100%. Haha.

More progress on the platform and drawer…first one has the tie downs for my fridge…should be able to get the drawer secured on the sliders tomorrow and hopefully mount to the floor.

Cheap Amazon side rails retrofitted into a cheap Costco dresser. Nothing was square and I shimmed with cardboard, but I powered through. It's functional, but definitely not pretty. Thankfully, it's in the kids room so I don't have to stare at it.

More progress on mine today...goal is to have a hatch in the front module on hinges and then cover the top in grey carpet. Lots of little "should've thought of that" moments, but working through it. Got the drawer box fully assembled with braces and mounted to the slides, really happy with that!

Next up is to work on mounting to the base rails, but I wanted to get as much carpentry work done as possible this weekend since my space is limited and it makes a real mess...plus all of the tools live in my basement, so I only wanted to drag them up and down once!

A few more...first one shows my secret cubby to stash stuff from the rear side doors...

I will say, this thing is sturdy!

You're gonna need to increase your insurance coverage with that much clean plywood in the back. 🤣
Wasn't too bad since I skipped the $250 a panel Bamboo! That said, I probably have $1k in this thing including my revisions, scraps from V1, and new tools...
It should be pretty sweet when done though! I have a little thump in the trunk coming too...a thick 6.5" CTS Meso sub with a 400w amp to tuck under the fridge platform.

Going in this...
