I’m using the next (at least) 2 weeks off to do some car projects. On the to do list..

60 series
-adjust the toe in. I can’t seem to get the nuts loose so I can adjust it. Maybe I just need to pull harder! I’m either at 0 degrees or slightly toed out. She wanders a little.
-see if it has a thermostat in it. The ramjet is running extra cool on the highway and takes a little while to get up to temp.
-tighten a slightly loose engine mount bolt. I think that’ll cure the driveline vibes I’m getting at 3000+ rpms

Maserati:
Figure out why it’s not starting! I bypassed the aftermarket ECM and the aftermarket module that adds better throttle response and faster shifts into the mix. No workie!!!! Argh. Put everything back and have a code and it won’t start. I think I know how to fix it but I don’t really know anything!
-after it gets running...
-install some cat delete pipes I’ve had in the basement for a few months (why have I waited so long!)
- do her annual oil and transaxle fluid change.
-leatherique the hell out of the leather (it’s like 80% of the interior

wash, polish and wax them both plus my wife’s subaru. It’ll get a new cabin and air filter too.

That’ll keep me busy.

 This was my exact thought, but I got distracted before i could respond.

For real. These Italian cars are quirky. I flipped the battery switch off (they have a disconnect switch above the battery in the truck) and hooked up the trickle charger... left her over night and started right up. The radio now functions correctly as well! My bolts were really low yesterday and it seemed like the car was still pulling power after I shut it off after messing with the ECMs.

I hate electronics. This all started as the clutch seems to be slipping on take off. Hopefully my flywheel isn’t all hot spotted.

Anyway; cruiser related, I sprayed some lube on the tie rod nuts. I might need to go get a pipe wrench to do the toe once I get them loose since the nut on this tie rod is huge!

I think you answered that
It was mostly the why wasn’t it starting when it went back together. Technically. I’m supposed to be able to pull the plugs on them and the car should go back to just running the stock ecm

::laughs in Italian::

Haha. For real. Slapped together by a bunch of Italians between espressos and naps. Can’t be too complicated!

Che pezzo di merda!

I got my 80 back from Ryan's. Had the distributor O ring, radiator, PHH, front main and oil pump gasket replaced. He also fabbed up a SS replacement fuel inlet pipe and installed his SS exhaust. That exhaust is bad ass. Nice and quiet, tucked up well and the last 2 feet can be removed to wheel or if you forget to remove it and it gets bashed it can be replaced.

Man his exhaust is incredible. Would love to get that on my truck! First I need to have him do my regear though lol.

I love those clamps. Definitely using those on my down pipe when I (eventually) go to the 2FE.

A couple weeks ago I ran into Max in his 80 Series at Starbucks. He might introduce himself on here someday... His front end was damaged, which included the front axle (which is now sitting in my garage). The idea with the locked axle is that there are still good parts (trail spares?). I don't want to just start pulling parts off, but if anyone needs anything, it's here.

It was definitely the water pump (looks like it’s been weeping for a while. Got things torn down tonight and the water pump is free—just need to get some non-flanged m10-1.25 nuts to double nut the 2 studs so I don’t have to remove the ac and alternator. Then on to some degreaser and the big motherf’er HB nut.

I didn’t thing to order new heater hoses but looks like standard stuff will work.

No picture, but I replaced all my turn signals, reverse lights, side markers, corners, and running lights with LEDs. The only exterior lights that aren't LED are the headlights.
You should do the headlights too. People will call you nice names, but at least you'll see everything
