I may end up with some bare metal in the tub, but the dash and floor area there is small bits of dune beige peeking out. Exciting to see if I can do it...

I'm thinking I may not be able to really get going on it until the cold weather comes, in which case I will pull Tina in the garage and do it there.

That's where the real brain cell loss happens, @dogfishlake , LOL

I had a good afternoon working on Tina today, and I am very excited to start getting down to the dune beige. I am also collecting some free parts locally, including a local Cruiser guy that gave me a free weber carb, I picked up a valve cover gasket, some free wheels off of Facebook, just to get her rolling.

But I took some CitriStrip That I had sitting in the garage, along with some very mild abrasive scrubbing pads and some towels and was amazed at how quickly some of this paint is coming off!

I have some photos attached of the interior blue being removed and a little bit of the rear quarter panel,

It is very therapeutic to say the least!

That’s looking perfect!

Driver’s side and back progress this weekend. Passenger side still not touched. Some PO back in the day had begun sanding parts down to bare metal, which is a shame….

Anyway, pressing on!

You’re making killer progress!

thanks! Now I need to find some early dune beige doors... Or just do paint removal on these and see what is under there. I don't think they are original to the truck...

Man. This is awesome

That means a lot, coming from you man! You are the king of patina preservation on these trucks!

I do need some tips on now preserving this patina, once I get down to the original paint

I have messed with inside the truck a bit, at and least the rear tub, from what I can tell has been already stripped and no longer has the beige color. I may end up needing to paint it beige, or a bedliner possibly…

I don’t like bed liner in general, and since I’m going for the old school look, I don’t really want to paint the interior. If I can’t get the beige to come out in the back of the tub, I could either leave it exposed, or treat it like @Snowbound did his tray.? There is beige in the front of the interior like dash, tranny hump, and possibly the firewall

Just a quick update on the benefit of treating with Penetrol. I think it is pretty clear from this photo which side got the oil

Thats a great demonstration photo. The citristrip is working great, clear coat when done. Looks ggod.

Thanks, what clear coat would be recommended? I don't want to clear coat paint/spray but I don't know what to use...

It rained all weekend in Nashville, but I got out and had enough time to start working on the front bib area and the hood. There are a couple of spots of Bondo on the hood where there had been dents and some owner had tried to fill it in, so I will likely just leave that?

Also, someone had started doing some paint removal, and the drivers side front bib area is bare metal.
