Hold onto your britches when you see the price.......Oh no kidding? Shoot, I missed that. I'll have to try and secure some just to have on hand.

Oh boy - thanks for the warning.Hold onto your britches when you see the price.......
i believe i found them on Amayama, and also this: Other Kits & Merchandise - http://www.phhkit.com/other-kits---merchandise.htmlNice work - I wrestled the gates lines and that job was no joke.
Are oem lines still available do you know?
I used bicycle tube. Maybe it didnt work. Lesson learned is to inspect the gear closely before removal so you know if whatever you did actually worked. In my experience, yes that chipped gear will make noise. Joey used to sell a composite wrench to grip a replacement gear while installing it. If you do decide to replace the gear, be sure to grip it with rubber vice jaws or something non-metallic.
For anyone wondering, yep, it ticks. Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, ......... time for a new gear.
Does it whine when you turn? If so that usually means air in your system somewhere.
I haven't replaced my gear yet, been on 2 wheeling trips. I dont hear the tick much anymore. I wonder if I just got used to it. Maybe I'll replace it one year lol. So many other projects to handle on the old 80.
Absolutely. It's made its way to FedEx in Paris, France.gotcha, well let us know if the new gear fixes it, just so we'll have another mark of evidence.
I just tried the express shipping from partsouq and it shipped in 18 hours after purchase and arrived at my door 4 days later, pretty crazy! No, it's a metallic constant whine. Not a cavitation whine from a leaky pump / hose. Same whine even with the new OEM pump, new low and high pressure hoses but the OLD gear on the new pump. It's the gear. C'mon Partsouq! Actually, they are remarkably fast shippers.
Nuts, isn't it?I just tried the express shipping from partsouq and it shipped in 18 hours after purchase and arrived at my door 4 days later, pretty crazy!
Arrival of the new PS pump gear. I continue to be amazed at the speed Partsouq ships. Dropped at my door at 830 this morning. Left Dubai last Wednesday evening.
I sure hope this fixes the whine. If it does not, I guess it must be the oil pump gear which to my eye, also looks to be boogered up when I stuck my endoscope down there - BUT, with the PS pump pulled out of the block, the whine is gone. I guess at the least, if the whining sound is less, I will call that a win.
I'm wondering if the depth things are meshing is incorrect for some reason since I have a whine and everybody else with boogered up PS pump gears gets a tick. I'll keep you posted when I install it today after my worky job. FINGERS HEAVILY CROSSED.

Congrats, that is a good feeling when a project finishes well as intended.Got everything buttoned back up and paced nervously around the truck for a bit and just finally decided to crank it. IT'S GONE! THE WHINE IS GONE. I'm still confused why I was not getting a tick but a high-pitched whine. Just the mesh creating high frequency vibes, I guess. Maybe each tooth had a miniscule burr on it. I'll slap the original gear back on the old pump and put it on the shelf for a whiny spare. I've been holding off on doing other things to this rig until I got rid of the whine gone. Feels really good. Have a good evening!
Sure is. Thanks.Congrats, that is a good feeling when a project finishes well as intended.
Wow! Awesome result! So does the timing cover have to come off in order for your to replace that gear? You did this with the engine in the truck??!Congrats, that is a good feeling when a project finishes well as intended.
