got a care package in the mail the other day, this one had my new to me turbo, crossover pipe, and exhaust dump. also not pictured is a h55 trans/tcase that I picked up for one of the cruisers.

both packages came with damaged goods, the wastegate vacuum nipple was crunched a bit and the t case gears were damaged. the seller of the tcase set me a spare set so we are good there and I will pick up a new wastegate soon...

so I need a new wastegate as you can see in the previous post when I search the part number all I can find is a complete turbo... any insights to this?

so a bit of an update:

Got a wastegate, air cleaner housing, and some electrical bits and things are slowly coming together.

ARB is also doing a run of the old 40 series bumper and I am a bit of a sucker for them... I think I need one...

I know a guy :D

man, it has been nearly a year! life got crazy and now I need to catch up os here it goes.

- motor and transmission are in
- Air cleaner is mounted
- Drivelines have been made

With My buddy only being able to work on this a little here and a little there it seemed like an ok time for me to take the body and get to work on that. I am trying to decide if I should blast it first and the take care of all the bodywork or vice-versa. I am also trying to decide between flares and going back to the stock rear wheel wells since I am only running 33x10.5 tires.

the shortlist mechanically

- clutch
- reseal the t-case
- run fuel lines
- add a lift pump
- turbo oil supply and drain, what have you guys done here?

Body shortlist

- disassemble doors, hood, windshield frame
- blast, open to thoughts and options here..
- bodywork, wheel wells, rear sill

My 69FST has the twist things on tub sides to hold the soft top down and also the rings on the pillar for the safety strap-/ looks like the 74s did not come with those things.

My 69FST has the rings on the A pillar and twist fastners on the rear rail of the tub as well. And the hard top mounting bolt holes all had bolts screwed into them as well but there were not hard door strikers mounted to the rear of the door openings since the soft doors latch on the b pillar/front bow of the FST.
You have to unscrew the rings from the dash in order to close a factory hard door... So his were probably removed when the hard top was fitted. The threaded holes would still be in the dash though...
HTH,

I think one of the PO's welded up the twist snap holes and I have threaded holes for the rings but those were long gone by the time this came to me.

I will most likely be running hard doors with a soft top.

So are you still using the factory bows? Amazing how stout they are— when I shake them on my FST,the whole rig moves— very solid. I usually run doorless on mine— only using the FST doors when I have my Setter with me. So looks like 74 did not use a Vader light— is there an interior light elsewhere on your rig? Enjoying watching your build.

so I figured that this was an FST at one point in time because of the tailgate, the original bows are long gone but I was able to pick up a set of Pakistani bows and a top here on mud.

I have had some time to get my shop shorted out, here area few pictures of parts that i dont think i will be needing if you are interested let me know. I also dont know what many of them are...

I would like the aprons with the one cut for a snorkel. I only need the driver's side, but will buy both if that is how you want to do it and the price is right. Send me a DM. Thanks.
