It's a straight truck with amazing work in it. One of a kind for sure.
Still worried about the cooling system. Steep hills on the highway were pushing the 230F range.
They have green coolant in now and I know that has to be flushed right away and replaced with red.

Put a 12 inch fan on the front this week, which is keeping temps in city driving down but the hill climbs are still creeping up beyond my comfort level.

What's with the dealer plate on the back? Did you buy it from a dealer?

@beno told me the Toyota red was a waste of money and wouldn't even sell it to me. Of course, I ignored him and used it anyway.

Is there a build thread on this somewhere?
 
Zack Penny is a local cruiser collector. We are not sure how many he owns, but he owns Bill Penny Toyota in Huntsville so he has it tagged through there for business reasons. Only dealer I know that has a showroom setup for Landcruisers (40;s, troopies, 45's etc...)

If it wasn't a newer toyota engine, I wouldn't care about the coolant type. But I think the 2UZ is specific on that stuff. Maybe Beno was referring to older F series engines??

I can't find a build thread, but I know Iron Pig and Slee did a lot of work on this truck and the PO sold this truck twice before.

2004 Tundra TRD Supercharged 4.7L V8
2002 A343F Lexus LX470 Transmission
1997 FJ80 Fulltime Transfer Case
Ron Davis Aluminum Radiator, with electric fans, and wired thermostat switch
High Angle dual CV drive shafts front and rear
1997 FZJ80 Electric lock axles re geared to 4.88
Bobby Long Superset up front birfields and shafts
Poly Performance chromo rear shafts
Fox 2.5" coilover shocks 3" Fox air bumps
All links were built with 4130 heat treated chromo from Polyperformance
Suspension links are all the largest Johnny Joints greasable
Steering links are all 3/4" FK teflon lined heim joints
Front bumper is 4+
Winch is an 8274-50
Steering is all stock late 60/62 gearbox and filler
Dual core electric fan transmission cooler (don't remember the make)
Ironpig Offroad custom skid plate
Ironpig Offroad custom trackbar
Ironpig Offroad custom rear bumper
Bilstein 7100 12 SB rear shocks
Extended fuel tank
New headliner from SOR
Front seats from Procar
Center Console from Tuffy
Switch Panel from 12V guy
Haneline gauges
New glass and window weather stripping from Toyota - windshield, cargo's, rear door
Wheels Walker Evans 17x9 with 37" Krawlers

In past seen electric fans not work well; if you can fit a clutched Toyota fan/ shroud try that and ditch electric fans.
 
Don't sweat the cooling. There is a way to make it cool I promise. That technology has come a long long way.

Look on Pirate. I think that is where the original build thread was.

You win the piggy war. I remember when it sold the first time. I wanted it so bad.

Great trip today. Cruiser heads always are some of the best people to meet.

Scottryana built that pig (most work at Iron Pig)...currently has a Turbo'd 80 and is building another Turbo'd 80 (second one is a street racer). Both 80 threads are in the 80 Series tech section.

I am going to add some air bags in the rear springs.
Hundred has towed the 40 fairly well so far.

Nice work on the break down you pretty much hit everything right on. The trans cooler is a Fluidyne.

Now take off that Sky Jacker steering stabilizer and replace it and get some real door panels on it! lol.
