MMM :pig: Links:

Finally got around to these:
Uppers are 44" X 2" O.D. X 1/4" wall DOM
Lowers are 36" X 2 1/4" O.D. X 1/4" wall DOM
Using J. Joints at the frame & cromo 3/4" X 16 heims at the axle ends.
I have to make a small rear floor "adjustment" before I install the uppers :D

Milled Speedo Housings:

You need to hurry up. Your killing me.

:D 3+ years on this build, you'd think I'd be done by now

I had these honed out for 2 stock tcase seals. The one on the left needed only a small amount removed cuz it's a Mudrak modified unit that uses a "special" seal along w/ the stock seal. I couldn't find the "special" seal locally, so I just had both milled exactly the same:

Minor Floor Mod:

Having too tight a fit w/ the rear downward slope of the floor & guaging the uptravel of my upper links, I needed to make an adjustment. I'm glad I did the body lift or I'd have to relocate my upper link mounts. Still have some trimming to do, but here's the idea:

Hoowdy! I always wondered why that wouldn't work. Does the inner seal interfere with the speedo bullet? John

Nope, there's about 1/8" clearance before it'd touch the splines of the speedo gear & the bullet necks down, so it's not really close.

Oh Joy!! That's just the answer I wanted to hear. I've got a handy dandy machinist that can do that for me in a hot tic. Thanks. John

Rear :PIG: Links Installed:

Besides the limiting straps & bumpstops, I'm done with the rear suspension. I'll have a local shop cycle the suspension & fine tune the limits of travel later when my part of the buildup is *done. I'll need to get them to build driveshafts & order up spare Moser axle shafts & do some misc. wiring too.

 I finished all the Avalanche trim, so I'm done, right?

Okay, I've had a minor setback trying to figure out the latching config. for the doors. The Bearclaw latches are designed to have a push type activating handle & my flush door handles pull up. And, I still have to hook up the inner handle. Sooo, I've been playing around w/ different setups lately. I was thinkin about goin back to the stock handles even though I welded all the holes up  Shoulda done some more research before I bought the Bearclaws :bang:

I should have a few updates soon, not on the doors though........

Hey there. Sorry, I've been busy with other things for a while and missed your request for how the linkage works. I guarantee you can get your bearclaws to work, but you'll want to order the striker plate and latch plate. It would be a major pain to try to put them in there without.

As to the linkage part... Can you draw a pic of how the handles you have work? Like, take a picture of the profile and then draw an arrow for what direction the actuator travels. I didn't have to do much to get the handles I pulled of a cherokee to work. They're actually pretty nice.

I'll try to pull the handles off next week and take some shots, then draw pics of how it all goes together.

Hey Chuck, what happened did you fall asleep at the :steer:? Don't tell me you quit working on this :pig:?

You callin me out? :D
I decided to hold off on the doors till I have a better  of how I want to latch them. Sooo, I'm gonna do some wrenchin - ordered some oil cooler fittings (had these ordered but vendor dropped the ball  ), got another windshield & rubber to install, sent off my newly aquired hydroboost unit to Vanco to be rebored for hydro-assist. I have a Premier Power Welder to hook up too....

Oh yeah, I ain't quittin got too much inve$ted already :bounce: I needed to get some ca$hflow goin on so I've had to take on a few side jobs designing/ drawing houseplans :frown: Hydro steering/ brakes ain't cheap for BOTH trail rigs :D Gimme a few more weeks & I'll be re-energized to finish the beast :pig:

Awn To The Updates:

Had a few parts come in. First my hydroboost unit rebored by Welcome to Vanco - the leading global Virtual Network Operator for hi-flow. It originally came from a M1008 CUCV military Chebby. I had to cut off the rod to the pedal & run a 10MM X 1.25 die on the shaft, which was the perfect I.D. Then, thread on the u connector to mate it to the :pig: pedal assy. Two  job - I can't believe I didn't get the threads crooked :bounce: Alll I'll need to do is drill 2 holes to mount the unit. I have all the hoses off the donor truck so that saves $$$. All my fittings came in for the oil cooler & P/S res. but it looks like I'll need a little more braided hose  I'm not fully back on track here, just thought I'd get a little greasy as it's been too long w/o any new progress :frown:

I've ordered a custom hi-flow P/S pump from Yahoo! Domains Web Card which should be here soon. Then, I'll need to get a hydro ram from PSC. That should keep me busy for a while as I don't see any more big dollar parts for now..... :D

As The Updates Continue.....

My hi-flow pump arrived so I painted it up & will install the pulley & mount 'er up. I had to modify the stock lower alt. bracket & make a new upper tension bracket for the Premier Power welder unit. I still have to pick up a P/S cooler & filter & fab up the mounting location - I think it'll go behind the grill at the base of the radiator. I'll be plumbing up the oil cooler next........

Intake, Weber 38, custom ceramic-coated headers, hydroboost unit & Setrab oil cooler's all hooked up. Not pictured is the hydro pump & alternator which is installed too. My Setrab P/S cooler is on it's way. I bought both coolers from www.bakerprecision.com Still have more plumbing to run & have since started mocking up my front suspension & relocating my front coil springs. I had to move the coil mount rearward so that meant I had to cut out the center support on the coil/ shock tower cuz the coils were a bit too close to the steering knuckle  Next pics will be the revised tower......
