Looks great! Congrats!

Thanks for posting the evolution, Ty. It's been educational following your progress and goals with your 80.

I am getting ready to do some similar things to mine and have learned and benefited from your pre and post Slee visit posts.

Looks great. What kind of bulbs are you using in your front/rear clear lights?

Who's Vars? :D

Hi Ty, glad you made it back safely. Was a pleasure to have you here and work on your truck. Not all customers walk in the door in the morning with a tray of Starbucks:D

Ty did not even flinch when we pulled out the airsaw and staret cutting the bumpers and mudflaps.

I think the truck turned out great and we achieve all his goals to have the ulitmate poser stance :D Had to talk him out of the snorkel since I think it would detract from the Zen look.

Pleasure was mine Christo. Thanx for all the great advice on the build, and talking me out of a few things .. items that for MY particular situation would not have jived. Namely the 6" lift - too big to have been able to park in my condo underground! Too heavy for my light truck. The snorkel, which I agree would have detracted from my 80's Zen lines , and the 4" coils which leveled things out .. the control arms which prevented us from having to chop the front mudflap area of the truck .. and finally the ARB bumper, so I can wait on your NEW bumper .. coming SOON right .. huh? huh?? :D

Ty,

Was Christo's waiting area clean & nice? Did they have nice seats for you to seat?
Did they perform the work in the estimated time?

How about the kitchen area?

Nice rig.

Regards

Alvaro

I'm not sure if you're serious or not :flipoff2: Funny questions .. Yes of course it was clean! The waxed floor reflected more light than my mellon .. and there are ample red leather sofas .. I sat in there surfing on the wireless network for his customers. When you go into the kitchen area check out the cool coffee maker.

Slee orchestrated an exceptional build .. and was accomadating in every way.

My pleasure! I know how much it means to be able to pour over notes on a rig you're interested in borrowing ideas from. Glad my notes might help you along your build.

I'm running the brightest regular bulbs I could find in my local automotive store . clears in the corners, and amber in the signals. Not sure of numbers, sorry.

The coffee shop gurls commented on that as well once .. being hetero, I'd never considered that alternative meaning .. :flipoff2:

SWEEEEET, looks awesome. Which Iroks you got on there, radial or bias? I want to get some thirty sixes at some point, so let us know how they are. Lucky bastard;)

Rig looks great TY! How much did it cost altogether?

I will be excited to read your report back on the Iroks as well. I'd like to know what kind of long term wear you get out of them. I had the Bias on a 40 I had and I swear you could drive to town and back and notice wear.

The IROK's I'm running are 36x13.5R16 Radials. They have that nice swamper hum, but so far wear well. Like everything else in this particular evolution, they were the right part for the build. In fact this whole phase was built around them, and the 1.5" wheel spacers, if you can believe that! ;p

As far as cost ... Slee lists the prices for everything on his site, and then you have to factor in your garages shop rate.

If I knew my truck could have handled this well, and been as capable (potentially ;) ) I would have dropped double this 3 years ago .. but sometimes you need to evolve towards certain goals. Things happen for a reason .. at the right time.

The buildup Gods smiled upon me in Golden on February 13,14 2006.

Looks really nice bud!

Oh yeah .. before I forget. I went to a few car washes today .. a regular one, and a touchless. I measured my 80's stance now, and it's just under 80". I checked these washes, and they're guides are 80", and just inside of that measurement on the plates holding down the drive-in bar guides are exposed bolts sticking up out of the floor 2"! I figured they'd tear open a sidewall, so I am now forced to bath the 80 in those U-Wash places :crybaby:

Keeping a built, poser princess is going to be a pain in the ass.

My first experience there was smooth. Pull up, and there is no man door for the wash .. so I go into the only man door on the building, and it's a dog wash! Next I go into the washbay and inspect the coin machines briefly, and realize I only have US bills on me ... so I go back into town and exchange a 20. Then when I get back the light is on the token machine - "Out f tokens when lit". Oh FFS!

I kicked a sparkling pomeranian as I stormed out .. :flipoff2:

;)
