All, I have never ordered parts from overseas before. Do places such partsouq, charge any fees such as customs, duty, or extra taxes? I am trying to determine what the cost will be beyond the shipping. I don't know if it matters but I am considering, but will probably talk myself out of, the 16x6 steel wheels. They are the ones that @mdcoa is running. So shipping is already high of course. Thanks for the help ahead of time.

I've ordered from them once and found shipping very reasonable. No import feels or anything. Shipping could be prohibitively expensive on large items however. I was going order a new front skid for about $150, (way cheaper than anything in the US) but found shipping was more than the item.

No additional fees I've noticed, just really expensive shipping. It's kind of a shame- by the time you tack on the shipping, the pricing goes from really really good to "eh".
Good to know, thanks for the quick reply. Shipping does seem to be high on this order, but they are wheels, and I am little bit cheap.

Here's one of my last orders. Shipping alone was 'reasonable' coming from the UAE, but it was as much as the parts. Buying the parts locally, I may have spent an extra coupla bucks.

The shipping goes up very quickly with bigger items and weight is a huge factor. Play with different combinations of parts in your cart and you'll see what I mean.

Their pricing is incredible. If not for the shipping, most other parts vendors would be obsolete.

I got one from Amayama recently, it was $148 and only $70-something shipping. The cheapest I could find in the states was $252 and ~$36 shipping.

In December of 2019, I bought all 5 rear control arms and some other parts totalling to $800 with shipping, and there were no tax or any other additional expenses.

I’ve found that parts + shipping from Partsouq always beats domestic costs for smallish parts. The shipping is quicker too: usually 2-3 days. A win all around, but I’m not buying large skid plates or wheels. We’re talking wheel bearings, diff bushings, radiator hoses, etc.

No extra ‘hidden’ fees or taxes either.

Thanks guys, I have some thinking to do

You may be subject to Import fees above specific dollar amount: $800 on packages. Partsouq uses FedEx Intl so if you're shipping small, expensive components (like a brake master cylinder) you could be subject to fees. Best to figure that out ahead of time by contacting FedEx or here: Internet Purchases | U.S. Customs and Border Protection

The only issue that I've run into with overseas shipments is that I've had a couple sit in customs for a while. Most recently I had an item from Russia sit in the customs warehouse in NYC for ~10 days. It finally got to me unopened, so I have no idea what the holdup was. Something to keep in mind though if it's a critical part that you need right away.

I did get nail once for extra $40.53 on top of $95 shipping and after billing and payment. The shipper (DHL) pay it for me and charged fee for doing so on ~$1,200 order. They gave option to pay online to DHL or pay COD.

I'm not sure where the break point is. I'm thinking around $800 as @abuck99 stated.

How much was the shipping?
Are you asking about my potential order or someone else's? If mine, for five wheels it is $352. Which seems high, as they just are not that large and that heavy. But of course not tiny or light.

Thanks for the heads up, but this is a no rush deal.

I saved over 100$ after paying 130$ for shipping on a new sunroof glass.

You really have to comparison shop (my discount at my dealer is better than any place online), some stuff is substantially cheaper, some stuff is roughly the same, and some stuff is way more.

When I bought my sunroof glass I also through in some smaller items I needed like hub flanges that are only like 15$ each vs 30+ in the states.

From my understanding you really don't get charged customs fees unless the customs office has to "touch" your package for whatever reason. That's usually pretty rare but does happen.
