Just found out I can't make this one, or the annual meet. Wife's birthday is the 9th and we will be fishing/diving in the Keys. Also, planning another trip to thge Keys the weekend of the 19th. I'll be thinking of you guys in the Cooler races in that 56 degree water while I drift behind my anchored boat in 85 degree water with a Corona in each hand.

I feel your pain:grinpimp: :flipoff2:

I haven't been to Spivey Cove before (but it's funny that that's also my last name!), and I wondered if a pop up camper would work there?

Thanks!

I've seen'em there...

Yeah, I don't see why a pop-up wouldn't work. We were allowed to park in the big open area last year and that would work fine for one; easily. I don't think there's anything prohibiting them.

man, it wouldn't be the same if you weren't there Marshall :crybaby: I hate to hear you might not be coming, but family is way more important that cruisers............ there will be plenty of trips in the future

but it couldn't hurt to kiss up :grinpimp:, you could put the wife and baby up in the spivey cove motel there on the river :D

I'm definetly in. Got the green light from the lady. I don't think I'll be driving the cruiser since I'll have to leave here friday after work and then leave early sunday morning. So I'll just bring the jeep. Wish the 55 was running and it may be we will just have to see.

I would like to cook for everyone though. It is definetly the cheapest route. And less crap for everyone to haul.

Grilled up a bunch of bugs last night. Good eats. Hopefully you'll have a cooler full!!!

also if I am not mistaken they list 2 RV spots on there website, so you shouldn't have a problem with a pop-up

Did you know the Fla crew is a big part of Upstate Cruisers?
We always hang out with the Fla crowd at GSMTR.
A good time is guaranteed.
Take care, drive safe and we'll be looking for you.

See ya'll there!

Hello, No have never been to Tellico, we pretty much are beginners although we are in the 40+ crowd. We have off roaded here in Fl. ( mud) and in Ca. but nothing serious. We plan on staying at the Spivey Cove campgroud. We are or shall I say I am really excited to see some mountains and off road the FJ a bit.

You guys will love tellico and your stock FJ cruiser should do fine, they had them all over the trails earlier this year at GSMTR.........

If you need any help with directions, or anything else on your way up feel free to give me a call 706 394 7045....

a group of us should be arriving before lunch on Friday, also I would not recomment attempting any of the trails alone, especially being your first time, it can be a challenging and confusing place the first time out, so best to wait on someone who knows the area well.

You'll be fine with the FJC stock. Just don't do anything crazy unless you are ready to and have some back up with you. I had mine at Tellico for GSMTR and had a blast! It will be good to meet you!

Hi folks,
New to the GA Cruisers and am planning on joining the caravan from Atlanta with Dan and Heather on Fri Morning. Bringing a stock FJ40 that isn't ready to wheel, but it wouldn't forgive me if I left it at home!!

I'd like to get in on the meal program and am more that happy to share in the cost of the room. Sounds like we'll be there early enough to save a camp site, but if not, a stake in the ground on my behalf would be great.

Also need to get a feel for how "family" friendly this is. I'm close to convincing my wife and 10 yr old girl to come up on Saturday (OK, my daughter is ready, my wife is more hesitant). If she's going to be the only spouse there, she'll probably want to skip this one. If you can let me know that would be great.

Thanks,
Steen Henninger

Steen, glad to hear you are coming, as for the "family" friendly aspect of this crowd, UC is very family oriented and many members bring their familys out to our events. With that said though the Tellico trip isn't as big of a family draw just because it is more serious offroading. I know that my better half will be there and a think one or two others may be bringing their wives, but most will not................ I think your daughter and wife will have a great time if they come, Tellico is a beautiful place. We are a very family friendly crowd so bring them on up, they'll love it
