Keep them on the download at camp. NO ALCOHOL in
trucks on trail, open or otherwise. Smoky has been known
to spotcheck trail riders. Coozy for  and cups for
other liquids around camp and all should be well.
B.Y.O.B.

I've heard that by camping at the trailhead of 5, you can not have alcohol and it will be confiscated since you are technically in the park. But I've also seen groups getting completley housed at that spot. So even if you don't get caught... is it worth it? (this is all hearsay)

Good question!

Hmmmmm.......now I ain't claiming to have foresight and I didn't
consult the tea leaves, but I can speak to the past somewhat through
experience. Saturday night I'm going to want a wild turkey before that
fine dinner. We've had 20 or 30 people gathered around a campfire
at Spivey Cove having a good time and indulging with respectful caution
and never a hassle by the "Man". I hope the streak stays alive.
hehe....Capt'n Jim and the Brothers know how to party hardy but I haven't
had to bail anybody out yet. I hope that streak stays alive too. ;)
Not saying it can't happen. I'm just saying in about a dozen trips there
all's been well. Respectful caution. Hehe...we'll draw attention for sure.
Ohm....cruiser,cruiser,cruiser....Ohm....
Tic toc tic toc
Hookie this afternoon too. ;)
Ran out of grease. Grrrrrrrrrr...those zerks mock me.
NAPA here I come.

David, we always know and imensely appreciate you standing at the ready in the event of such a lapse of bad judgement on our part. :crybaby:

However, a form of bail was once paid by a fellow member who shall remain un-nanmed (but drives a blue 40 with TOYOTA on the side and has a nice tan 75 series troopy),. Said un-named club member was stopped by local Tellico PD and bought him off with several Southeast Toyota GSMTR T-shirts, gratis.

There are more than black bears out ther fellas, so be careful and don't do anything stupid. Like David, we have been approached by rangers/LEO's and left alone, just because of our civilized behavior.

That being said......let the games begin!

I only meant in the OHV, not in Tennessee, Camping at the trailhead of 5 is in the OHV.
I camped at a popular camp on the Murphy side a few weeks ago for the All-Pro event, it was miserable and we were harassed the entire time, even after paying the $70 to camp. Never again I tell you, even if GSMTR stays there! Tennesee camping rocks!

A Truth

Andrew and Lucas were with some friends who were busted at this location. It was not considered a official camp site. Cost each a hundred bucks.

At least

not last May...:flipoff2: Who knows now a days.
Better to be prepared. I know the spot. It's my
second choice. :flipoff2:

Oh, yeah baby, I'm packing a few Coronas in
YOUR honor! To Capt'n Jim. Wish you were here!
I'm bringing that big parawing shade/shelter thing ya'll always
seemed to use. Rain. A fact of life in Tellico.
Reminds me : rain suit. :)

yeah I would say it sounds like Capt. Jims site it the winner................ it is a nice big spot and it has a purty river, and is still close to the trails.

I can't wait to get there any one up for some night wheeling friday, I got some KC fog lights mounted underneath this afternoon so I can see those big rocks at night, and I am going to donate my old ones to chuck..........

Uh oh....

Is it bad when you park the truck in 1st gear and it rolls
backwards downhill?
I'm thinking new clutch after this weekend. ;)
Hope I make the convoy departure time.
Cell phone 864-238-8868...it won't be on while in court
friday morning. Hope I see ya'll at Walhalla.
I had to be packed tonight . NO time tomorrow.
See ya'll then.

there nothing quite like painting in the moon light, I just hope my fenders are dry in time to hit the road in the morning  Chuck gets here at 11pm its going to be an all night wrench fest................

Man I wish I was there with you guys. I'm just about done. I finished up the wrap bar and put an exhaust donut in betrween the header and tailsection. It's hard to here it run now. We will see how long it lasts. THe wrap bar is awesome it tightens everything in the rear, With no slop. I'm bringing tools to take it of if it gives me problems. new oil in diff and tranfer case. All the light under it work except one. I' chech it out in the morning.

And the big news is!!!!!!!!!

My wife went grocrery shopping for us with a list I had made for myself. She saved me at least 2hrs. I love her. She is a cool cruiser chick.

You boys have a great time at Tellico and take plenty of pictures. Carter is teething in his first two teeth. Life is living hell around here, can't leave. See y'all the 27th.

Alright gang, I'm getting ready to pull out within the next hour. Gotta drop off a utlity trailer real quick and I'm on the way to Wallhalla.

TAD

Not quite home yet but I stopped at my office for a pit stop. I had an awesome time everyone!!!! Eric thanks for letting me ride in your 80, thoroughly enjoyed that sweet setup. Also, thanks to Marshall and Bob for the gourmet camping experience! :D

edit: I checked and it was over 1.5" of rain at Andrews yesterday. We more than likely exceeded that!

Checking in.

Home safe and sound. Camping gear mostly dried out
and now on screen porch for final dry out.
I had a great time. Spivey Cove wound up our
best option and served us well for base camp.
We did the up 6 to 4 and down 5 route. Some pretty
hairy stuff for wagons, especially in a pouring rain storm.
I rode spotter with Infomationjunky in his lockered
Lexus. Yes, that's right a Lexus. The looks we got from the
J**p crowd, as the wagons replete with a Lexus passed along the trails,
was priceless. I read more than one set of lips exclaiming...
".... that's a Lexus!" ...as our mighty procession wheeled
where they took highly modified Heeps. Priceless, I tell ya!
The food was excellent and Club Cook and Chef 3pits did it right.
Matt 's open diff'ed stock 62 was awesome.
Carnage was minor and what was rendered was well earned
and a badge of honor.
Thanks to all attendees, the old timers and the new guys alike.
See ya'll at the annual meet. Maybe I'll be dried out by then. ;)
