So the truck had been sitting since T day.
Spend a couple hours cleaning mold and getting it dried out..
Drove it a hundred miles this week probably.

Anyway....minute mod. Well, more like hour(s) mod. Lol

Truck was originally sn auto so the cluster was missing the typical SR5 volt gauge. Always bugged my ocd. So i scored that segment of the cluster the other day. Well in my typical luck the printed circuit on the ckuster was different.
Had to build a simple jumper to make it work.
While it was out i cleaned it up and detailed the needles.

Cool. Looks about right. I need to open mine up and fix the fuel/temp spike thingy. I think the thread says it's a shared ground or something. I don't mind seeing my fuel "overfull" but when I glance at the temp and it's pegged off the red it trips me out!

Reminds me that the temp gauge in GB doesn't work right.... I need a friggin white board to write all the stuff down I need to do to that thing......
Dude! We tossed that giant white board at office getting rid of stuff day! Should have grabbed it.

So as suspected. Blown input in the rear case.
Both the trans to case and case to case couplers look good. Front input good.

So TG said they'd warranty with a receipt (that i dont have)
The vendor i bought from says he cant find it either (makes me wonder why we even use computers)
Im just going to clean it up, put stock gears in and move on.

I personally think this set broke too easily.
Especially since i had been driving with that voice in tbe back of my head. Never even powerebraked them once.

So the marlin set broke, IIRC, in 2wd front box in low, probably too much hop. At Rubicon.
This set broke in 4wd front crawl box in low rear in hi. I couldnt get the wheel speed in 4.7 lo range. Theres video, ill try to recover.

Anyway

Daaaaaaaaaamn.......they got knock the ***k out!

I would say the clean break had some tooling or a flaw that was the initial starter. I would see if you could at least get a reduced price (cost) replacement w/o the receipt. I can't imagine what kind of torque happens between the 3.4 and those big tires. No, it shouldn't break that easy but still there is some serious math going on in there!

Just stick an automatic in there! :moon:

I broke an input in my 85 4runner a long time ago that looked identical to that. Do they make a chromoly version? Seems like a weak link.

So after pondering this for a few days, i think im just going to call Marlin next week and get 23 spline coupler and 4.7 input. (If available)

TG said they'll warranty the part. Davez ended up finding my receipt.
So once i get the TG gears back, I'll sell them and recoup fundage.

Talked with Marlin Crawler.
New 23 spline coupler and chromo 4.7 input on the way.

Sending TG parts back for warranty. Going to see if theyll swap for a 23 spline as well..

Anybody need a set of TG 4.7a? $420 :smokin: deal

Im just soo thankful it happened where it did. Breaking on THE trail last time was an utter/udder drag.......im thankful almost daily, of the crew i was with that week. They really saved my ass. That was an absolutely EPIC trip......but i digress.

Barring tragedy, truck will be attending mining claim run. :)
